Job Description: 

The Senior Procurement Category Specialist - Service and Indirect Materials (S&IM) role will be responsible for leading and managing the procurement of S&IM spend categories for Nestle Health Science USA. This role will also be responsible for developing solid working partnerships with in-market and Nestrade (Nestle’s global buying organization) stakeholders to optimize sourcing, supplier selection, pricing, contracting, and ongoing supplier management. 
 

The Senior Procurement Category Management Specialist (S&IM) will also serve as the key interface between Nestle Health Science USA, Nestrade and Nestle USA, contributing to the development of category strategies, identifying value creation opportunities and leading cross functional projects.  This role will also be an important resource managing local supplier relationships with a focus on risk management, innovation and sustainability. This role is a remote-based opportunity. 

Responsibilities: 

•    Manage a $200M spend portfolio as the internal market expert and work with Category Managers to develop a solid working partnership and implementation of procurement activities across multiple suppliers and categories with varying levels of complexity. 
•    Will be the first point of contact for the Nestle Health Science USA Factories in escalation and issues.
•    Manage end to end assigned categories, including localization of global strategies, development of at-market strategies, and coordination with suppliers and Nestrade / NUSA buyers. 
•    Cross functionally coordinates with Procurement Business Partners and stakeholders on strategy, implementation and assigned scope of responsibilities. 
•    Manages the monthly governance with business and ensure procurement value contribution to the business and day to day operations.
•    Identify value creation opportunities and manages a continuous improvement pipeline to deliver year over year productivity while ensuring supply. 
•    Assess suppliers based on business requirements and business needs and ensures saving tracking (OSCAR) in partnership with Finance. 
•    Executes market research in various areas, contributing to category strategies and keeps abreast of market conditions and maintains an agile mindset to meet changing business needs, providing analytical support. 
•    Proactively advises on optimal sourcing, supplier selection, contract pricing, terms and conditions and supporting documentation while meeting quality and service level requirements to the business needs.  
•    Aggressively contributes to the Nestle Health Science USA point of view to Nestrade and Nestle USA stakeholders to realize the greatest overall value for Nestle Health Science USA.   
•    Monitors supplier performance and proposes improvement plans as required. 
•    Defines a proactive risk management strategy for critical items and ensures proactive problem solving of supply issues. 
•    Communicates issues clearly to the key stakeholders, escalating when necessary and provides oversight for critical tasks like BCP, supplier performance, and ensuring supply.  
•    Supports new product, new technology or new initiative launches as applicable, leverages supplier partner in securing differenced MRO and operational consumables and technology, and identifies resource cost saving ideas. 
•    Supports the corporate sustainability strategy by representing supply base capabilities and working with the Nestrade and Nestlé Sustainability team to achieve Sustainability goals and integrate them into the strategic sourcing process.
•    Support various transformation projects (such as network optimization, Simplex, complexity reduction) on an as needed basis and reviews the PSL (Validated Mandatory and Sole Source). 
•    Ensures timely and accurate maintenance of Procurement data in ERP (i.e. quotas, contracts, source lists, etc.).  
•    Track key performance indicators to ensure procurement value contribution to the business.  
•    Performs additional Procurement-related duties and tasks as assigned by direct Procurement Line Manager. 

Requirements: 

•    High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration and/or in a related field preferred. 
•    3+ years of professional experience working in a Procurement and/or Supply Chain role supporting Manufacturing, Commercial and/or Corporate functions required. 
•    3+ years of experience or expertise working with indirect materials categories especially for equipment, MRO, facility services in food, pharmaceutical or nutraceutical industries is strongly desired. 
•    Must have experience in developing and implementing new suppliers and business solutions.
•    Demonstrated fluency in MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook) is required. 
•    Must have excellent communication (oral and written), presentation, organizational and stakeholder management skills (including the ability to develop, lead and maintain strong, cross-functional stakeholder relationships). 
•    Must be detail-oriented, analytical, agile and must have knowledge of Strategic Sourcing and Category Management. 
•    Willing and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision. 
•    Experience with CRM or ERP systems such as SAP and Power BI is highly desired. 
•    Willing and able to travel up to and including 15% based on the needs of the team and the business required. 

The approximate pay range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as geographic location.
