We’re looking for a Design and Marketing Specialist to join our Marketing Team!

About Us: Box of Crayons is a Toronto-based learning and development company. We partner with large, global organizations to offer practical, interactive, and transformative learning experiences. Curiosity is our specialty– we believe that developing curiosity in individuals creates strong businesses with healthy and connected workplace cultures.

About the Role: We are seeking a full-time Design and Marketing Specialist to join our Marketing Team. In this role, you’ll bring our brand to life through eye-catching visuals and creative marketing materials, designing everything from social media graphics to presentation templates. We’re looking for a creative all-rounder who loves design and can contribute to the development and execution of marketing strategies. If you’re passionate about helping companies make their workplaces better with curiosity, read on.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and create visual content and assets for digital marketing (social media, paid ads, blog images, banners, landing pages, etc.) that align with the overall marketing strategy.
  • Maintain and refresh branding guidelines and ensure consistency across all marketing channels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and product teams, assisting in the creation of enablement material (e.g., case studies, product sheets, presentations, teaching materials, product decks).
  • Work with external partners (agencies, printers) to create new assets and templates as needed.
  • Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns across multiple platforms, including email, social media, and digital advertising.
  • Assist with other ad hoc marketing tasks as needed (event promotions, product launches, etc.) to support the marketing team’s overall success.
  • Understand our ideal client profile and target audience and tailor content to resonate with their interests, needs and pain points
  • Stay up to date on Learning & Development industry trends, competitors, and emerging design and marketing strategies to recommend improvements
  • Stay current with the latest marketing trends, technologies, and best practices, implementing new ideas as appropriate to maintain competitive advantage.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Has experience as a designer or creative (in-house or at an agency)
  • Understands and can contribute to other marketing strategies, including content creation, lead generation, product launches, and sales enablement
  • Familiar with the Learning and Development industry or a related field
  • Has experience working with complex B2B sales with enterprise corporations
  • Is highly proficient using WordPress, Canva, and Hubspot
  • Wants to grow and learn in a small but mighty team
  • Loves rolling up their sleeves and doing hands-on work, collaborating with many members of the team
  • Understands that great marketing is about being of service to others

You are:

  • A creative that can look at a blank page or canvas and envision a great design
  • A doer that can connect graphics with copy to create cohesive visuals
  • A thinker who understands the power of narrative as the basis for great marketing
  • Enthusiastic about learning and sharing knowledge
  • Organized and efficient – you see the job through with an eye for detail
  • Values diverse perspectives, applying that richness to their approach

At Box of Crayons, we’re looking for people who are:

  • Aligned to and excited about our mission and values
  • Insatiably curious, always asking more questions and seeking better answers
  • Driven and ambitious, but also buoyant, creative, and scrappy

Studies suggest that women and people of colour might be less inclined to apply for roles if they don’t meet every qualification. We’re just looking for the best candidate for the job, and that could be you, even if you don’t meet every qualification listed. We especially want to hear from you if you believe in the power of curiosity in creating a better workplace and world.
