Your Role

Lead and significantly contribute to feature releases, usually in multi-person projects and involving internal and external stakeholders.
Write, document and test Java code for scale, resilience and maintainability.
Monitor and analyse logs, test results and user feedback to proactively identify issues, weaknesses and opportunities for the implementation of improvements, modifications, bug fixes, and new features.
Occasionally lead the evaluation and selection process for third-party libraries and application packages.
Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to team members, promoting knowledge-sharing and adoption of good practices.
Conduct comprehensive and insightful code reviews.
Provide timely and complete project status reports to supervisor as requested.

What You Need

Non-negotiables

Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Java
Java 8+, Spring boot, Hibernate or equivalent ORM, Maven or equivalent build automation tool, code repository (git, bitbucket or equivalent)
Familiarity with SQL and RDBMS, ideally Postgres
In-depth knowledge of publishing and consuming APIs and related standards (REST, SOAP, OSA/Swagger)
Understanding of Agile Development methodologies
Java 8, microservices, and API all should be expert level.
