We are seeking an experienced API Software Engineer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and maintaining APIs, with expertise in RESTful services and related technologies. This role will focus on creating scalable and high-performance APIs, enabling seamless integration with various systems and ensuring our applications are efficient and reliable.
What You’ll Be Doing As A Part of Our Team
Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure RESTful APIs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define API requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
Integrate APIs with other systems to enhance functionality and ensure smooth data flow across platforms.
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize APIs for high performance, availability, and reliability.
Maintain API documentation to ensure clarity for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Implement best practices for API design, including versioning, authentication, and error handling.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies to continuously improve API development processes.
Participate in code reviews, contributing to the improvement of team practices and standards.
Provide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to their professional growth.
What You Should Have To Qualify
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in API development, with a strong focus on RESTful services.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.
Solid understanding of API design principles, including REST, HTTP, JSON, and OAuth.
Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of security best practices in API development.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Ideally, You Would Also Have These
Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards like HL7 FHIR
Experience within Healthcare IT industry and awareness of regulatory standards
Experience working with API gateways and microservices architecture.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools to ensure API performance.

While job postings offer a pay range as a general reference, the final offer depends on candidate qualifications and experience. Our aim is to provide equitable compensation that recognizes your unique skills and contributions. During interviews, we'll discuss your qualifications and expectations, striving for a competitive and fair offer. The initial hiring range for this position is: $110,000 - $130,000.
