Project Manager

Essential Job Duties

• Ensure an effective governance model is defined and implemented to ensure project success
• Create and manage project plan components
• Create Project Plan
• Baseline Plans
• Maintain Project Plans with the appropriate level of detail
• Ensure that all tasks are appropriately scheduled (dependency, dates, resources, effort)
• Ensure Critical Path is understood and managed
• Ensure Milestones are defined and met
• Work with client teams to make sure project plans requirements are approved and signed off, client tasks and deliverables are communicated to the client team, and are held accountable for their deliverables
• Document and manage risks, action items, issues, constraints, assumptions, escalating as appropriate
• Manage assigned resources for the project
• Progress
• Remove Roadblocks
• Reassignment (as necessary)
• Establish and Maintain relationships with functional organizations
• Schedule appropriate meetings related to the program
• Manage and Maintain Time Management
• Project Resources and appropriate tasks
• Approval of Time / Review of remaining hours
• Reject and re-allocation of inappropriate time
• Monitor project progress and provide ongoing project status reporting
• Prepare Status
• Tasks
• Future Meetings
• Actions/Issues/Risks
• Budget time/Dollars (Burn)
• 25% Travel to client sites
• Participate in cross-functional and client meetings and work sessions related to new products and services, process improvement, operational issues, change management, and other related subjects.
  

Skills/Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of project management; PMP certification preferred
• 5+ years (minimum) experience working as a Project Manager in operations and business environment
• Experience with managing external clients, preferably in the Utilities Industry
• Highly organized and able to wear multiple hats in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment; a driving force who manages toward clarity and solutions.
• Self-starter, able to work independently on own initiative and as part of a team
• Successful track record in setting priorities, shaping processes, guiding investment in people and technology, and developing an infrastructure that creates a more robust and efficient operation.
• Ability to learn quickly and provide value when placed in unfamiliar settings
• Ability to manage internal and external expectations, including client
• Ability to meet deadlines on aggressive schedules
• Ability to multi-task and to give and take direction
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Excellent communicator of ideas both orally and through documents and other visual aids
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Methodical approach to planning and working
• MS Office Suite Proficiency (including Microsoft Project and Visio)
