Responsible for developing and executing end-to-end procurement for IT hardware, software, and services including strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier relationship management. This role involves managing vendor relationships, managing service level agreements and key performance indications, and ensuring the acquisition of high-quality IT goods and services at the best total value proposition. The category manager will work with key stakeholders in Networking and IT departments and other stakeholders to understand the needs of the business and execute a strategy that aligns with the overall objectives of the department and company.
Responsibilities
Lead the Strategic Sourcing and Category Management Team and Process
Reviews spend analytics data to aggregate demand for strategic sourcing events and supplier consolidation
Conduct supplier assessments for assigned categories with key suppliers.
Identify, evaluate, and select vendors based on Total Cost of Ownership: quality, cost, terms, reliability, and service.
Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to secure favorable contractual terms and conditions.
Stay current on market research and industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in procurement, incorporating insights into category strategies
Lead the Strategic Sourcing Process
Prepare and execute complex RFIs, RFPs, RFQs and reverse auctions, as well as, associated deep financial analysis, category benchmarks, trend analysis, and presentation of formal recommendations to senior executives
Provide the leadership for developing successful supplier relationships for assigned categories, create and negotiate supplier contracts or pricing agreements with Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and/or Service Level Agreements (SLA)
Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for IT procurement, including hardware, software, services, and telecom
Draft, review, and manage IT contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
Resolve contractual disputes and issues in a timely manner.
Supplier Management
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key IT vendors.
Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or discrepancies.
Manage software renewals
Value Creation
Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives
Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive pricing.
Manage software assets to ensure timely and adequate renewals (license counts match usage)
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to IT sourcing and procurement (license utilization, etc.)
Risk Management
Identify and mitigate risks associated with the IT supply chain.
Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in IT supply.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to IT procurement including data protection and privacy Work in a team environment and align negotiation strategies with corporate strategies, goals and objectives
Deliver annual savings in alignment to performance targets and objectives
Maintain sourcing templates to optimize the sourcing process
Maintain action plans weekly; track and report savings on a monthly basis to Senior Leadership Team for assigned categories/sourcing projects
Drive Procurement Transformation
Drive continuous improvement throughout of the supply chain by supporting the implementation of procurement systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. MBA or advanced certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) preferred
Strong negotiations skills necessary to seek appropriate cost, quality, delivery and terms
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques
Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT sourcing, procurement, supply chain management, or IT management; working with following types of products and services:
SOW based IT consulting
SaaS
IT equipment
Data Center/Cloud services
Proven track record of successful supplier negotiation and contract management.
Knowledge of IT products, services and market trends.

Salary
Pay range (commensurate with skills and experience): $120,000 – $150,000 annual salary plus bonus
