The mission of Internal Auditing is to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the Bank's operations. In addition, through our agility, expertise and professionalism, we can help the organization achieve its strategic objectives by using a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
The incumbent will provide expert support to managers and help guide their thinking by making recommendations to increase profitability, optimize operational effectiveness and efficiency and minimize corporate risk.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Auditor of Internal Audit, you will support executing audits related to operations audit and Regulatory Compliance audits.
The role involves understanding the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls as well as assessing how processes meet regulatory standards. Following the design and execution of audit tests / analysis, the Senior Auditor will help support the formulation of independent opinions by working with the Lead Auditor.
Involved In All Phases Of The Audit Process, The Senior Auditor Will Drive Recommendations For Improvement, And Prepare Audit Reports For Presentation To Management You Will Participate In The Execution And Reporting Of Internal Audits, More Specifically, The Individual Will
- Execute audit work, documenting approach, evidence, analysis, and results related to the scope under review
- Critically and objectively assess business conformance to policies, procedures, internal and external requirements
- Effectively execute audit control objectives to set timelines
- Collaborate effectively with divers secteurs of activites (1st and 2nd line of defense)
- Have ability to work within the Internal Audit team and participate to any project that is pertain to Risk Management
- Have ability to apply audit techniques and processes according to industry best practices (e.g. IIA, COSO, COBIT)
- Facilitate meetings and communicate with individuals, including Senior Management
- Monitor Management Action Plans and assess whether appropriate actions to address findings have been implemented
- Have ability to simplify complex issues and unambiguously articulate issues and findings (e.g. items related to risk management
- Effectively support findings with data and factual observations
- Develop engagement letters, audit reports and other audit deliverables
- Execute other assignments or tasks, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business / commerce, economics, or relevant related discipline;
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or professional accounting designation (CPA) is an asset;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in risk and / or internal audit (Canadian regulated Financial Institution is strongly preferred);
- Excellent client relationship skills and ability to develop and build relationships with various lines of business at the Bank.
- Experience with, or strong understanding of the various OSFI Guidelines;
- Flexible and adaptable to changing / evolving environment
- Inquisitive nature and ability to self-learn processes / regulations in a targeted manner and apply and share that knowledge
- A motivated contributor, demonstrating integrity, courage, and professionalism
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Ability to interpret complex directives, policies, requirements with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication, written and presentation skills
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Knowledge of GRC tools (e.g. Audit Board, Resolver) is an asset
- Bilingual (French and English)
- Ability to travel (10%)
- Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
