The GIS Analyst will join the National Geospatial Practice and will be involved in a variety of GIS projects across the country. Responsibilities include hands-on evaluation and manipulation of spatial and attribute information, data conversion, cartographic mapping, and a willingness to increase skillsets with training, research, and working with teammates on complex projects.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Have a strong knowledge of GIS concepts and spatial relationships
Reconcile results of geospatial analysis and prepare documentation and reports
Data procurement and quality assurance
Ability to provide deliverables in a timely manner
Ability to effectively communicate regarding data needs, priorities, and on support matters
Have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
Must be able to communicate effectively
Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams within Michael Baker International
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum two-year degree or applicable professional experience; Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in GIS, Geography, Science, or related field of study is preferred.
3-5 years of experience working directly with GIS data, preferably in a consulting environment or within government agencies
3-5 years of experience with the Esri ArcGIS suite.
Must be able to demonstrate technical experience, familiarity, or motivation to learn in most, if not all of the following areas:
ArcGIS Enterprise
ArcGIS Experience Builder
ArcGIS Portal or ArcGIS Online
ArcGIS Hub
ArcGIS Survey123 or ArcGIS Field Maps
ArcGIS Dashboards
ArcGIS Story Maps

We are looking for a team player who must also have the following qualifications:

Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities
Ability to improvise and respond effectively in unexpected situations
High accountability, motivation, and quick responsiveness when working remotely during work hours
Familiarity with Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) a plus, but not required
Ability to travel and perform field work within Alaska if a project warrants it.
COMPENSATION
The range for this role is $60,000-$85,000. This will be dependent on the skills of the incoming candidate and geographic location.
WORKPLACE FLEXIBILITY
THIS POSITION IS 100% REMOTE within the United States; however, preference is given for candidates living in Alaska for this specific position.
