Description

Better Cotton is the world’s largest cotton sustainability programme. Our mission: to help cotton communities survive and thrive, while protecting and restoring the environment. In difficult times, we are meeting the challenge head on. Through our network of field-level partners we have provided training on more sustainable farming practices to more than 2.9 million cotton farmers in 26 countries. More than a fifth of the world’s cotton is now grown under the Better Cotton Standard and our membership network includes more than 2,400 members.


Background

As we continue to scale, ensuring a structured and transparent job grading and rewards framework is critical for maintaining fairness, career progression, and market competitiveness.


We seek an experienced consultant or firm to support the development and implementation of a job grading structure and salary framework, including clear milestones for progression within bands. The project aims to provide a comprehensive job architecture that aligns roles with business needs and ensures equitable, competitive, and sustainable compensation structures across our diverse workforce.


Objectives

The primary objectives of this project are to:


•Review, simplify and standardise the existing job architecture, ensuring clarity and efficiency.

•Develop a consistent job grading structure, including job levels and function grids applicable across all locations.

•Conduct a comprehensive job evaluation, ensuring internal equity and alignment with external benchmarks.

•Establish clear salary bands and progression pathways to facilitate career growth.

•Ensure that the job grading and rewards framework is adaptable across multiple locations while maintaining market competitiveness.

•Provide guidance and policies for sustaining and evolving the job grading framework over time.

•Ensure alignment with performance management, talent acquisition, workforce planning, and overall HR strategy to create a cohesive and integrated approach.

•Establish a structured approach to career development and internal mobility within Better Cotton
