Job Summary
This role will work with tax agencies to enroll clients and transmit electronic filings of client tax data based on the agency determined cadence, from Paycor systems to the agency systems. This will also encompass releasing payments that are contingent to the enrollment and/or electronic file status. Their primary focus is to ensure all Paycor client tax data is transmitted to the tax agencies to maintain tax compliance. To accomplish these goals, this role will work with tax agencies and internal teams to analyze, design, enhance, recommend, and develop timely data transmission solutions. This role will also work with individual clients to troubleshoot agency specific enrollment & filing issues.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Extraction, manipulate, and import data from various systems
Identify and escalate concerns, assisting to problem solve identifying best means for importing data based on an ever-changing set of circumstances and system capabilities
Reconcile and process electronic return, W2 & W3 files and payments in accordance with frequency as mandated by the tax authorities to maintain tax compliance
Troubleshooting of set-up and data integrity issues as needed for lower complexity agencies
Resolve client questions expediently with a high level of service and communicate with them regarding tax filing and payment issues, and tax jurisdiction correspondences, escalating concerns as needed.
Proactively maintain positive relationships with peers within Tax Services and other Client Services teams
Continue to improve system knowledge through collaboration with peers, technical support, and IT developers
Provide communication and enhancement requests to Tax Compliance & Product & Engineering team and management of product development issues arising from problems identified through data integration and transmission efforts
Maintain and facilitate promotion of department-initiated software enhancements
Maintain a working environment that is energized and consistently demonstrates the Paycor service commitment and values
Collaborate with other Client Service and Product & Engineering teams to share best practices and process improvements
Requirements
Four-year degree or equivalent experience preferred
3+ years prior accounting, tax or Paycor experience preferred
1+ year of Client Service experience, preferably business to business
Experience with industry standard file formats such as EFW2, ICESA, and NACHA preferred
1+ years of experience preparing and filing payroll tax returns – federal, state, local and unemployment
Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy with multiple data elements extracted from multiple data sources
Possess strong organization and time management skills, must be able to prioritize tasks based on delivery dates, other milestones and perform well under agency-driven deadline pressures
Takes initiative and demonstrates a high degree of ownership and accountability
Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills
High technical aptitude; ability to adapt to frequent system and tool updates
Demonstrated drive to learn new skills, enhance and implement process efficiencies for the betterment of the client, team and Paycor
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to manage projects and self-motivated
Must be able to work in a team environment, as well as independently
Must be available to work extended hours during peak season volume
Highly organized, able to prioritize, with exceptional follow through
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

We also offer competitive compensation determined by each individual's relevant experience, skills, and education. We anticipate the base pay for this position to be between $23.48-37.58/hour In addition to base pay, Paycor Associates are eligible for either a performance-based annual bonus or commission, depending on their position.
