Primary Responsibilities
Understand and interpret key drivers of dental trends in the Medicaid and/or Medicare space
Help develop dental pricing for Medicare and Medicaid customers
Assist in developing analytics that serve as the foundation for Medicaid dental rate advocacy
Help drive ongoing efficiency gains on new and existing processes
Become a trusted resource to our business leaders and other non-actuarial partners
Adapt to tight external deadlines to help the business meet its financial goals
Analyze and interpret quantitative data from a variety of internal and external sources to create ad hoc exhibits
Develop pricing models and make recommendations for management review
Perform analyses of Medicaid claims that provides management with statistical findings and conclusions
Assist with development of materials, exhibits and visuals to communicate results internally and externally
Present findings directly to leadership and functional partners

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another related technical field from an accredited college/university
5+ actuarial exams passed and in process of obtaining Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation
3+ years of actuarial experience
Advanced or higher proficiency in MS Excel (i.e.: formulas, calculations, charts, graphs, data manipulation, VBA)
Basic proficiency (able to read and interpret code) with SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and / or SQL (Structured Query Language)
Proven analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to quickly learn and use computer software tools effectively
Preferred Qualifications
Attainment of Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) credential
Actuarial experience that includes working with dental, vision, and / or Medicaid insurance
Experience working in finance or the health care industry including collecting, analyzing, and summarizing qualitative/quantitative data
Experience with R, Python and/or other predictive analytic platforms
Experience with data visualization, i.e.: Power BI, Tableau
Experience and interest in developing original quantitative work
Advanced capability of SAS and SQL
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including written and verbal forms of communication

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
