Position

Position : Software Engineering Manager

Location Preference: Home Office (Romania); or Hybrid (from Cluj)

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead a high-performing team of engineers to design and implement new and existing features for our industry-leading NPM+ and AppResponse products.

As organizations are transforming their environment and growing more distributed, the network becomes even more relevant. Riverbed AppResponse and NPM+ Core agent deliver all-in-one packet capture, application analysis, transactional details, and flow export. Specialized application modules provide fine-grained analysis to help you to speed problem identification and resolution.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and develop a high performing team of Engineers and Technologists
  • Plan, organize and estimate deliverables together with your team
  • Track key performance metrics for delivery
  • Actively contribute to the architecture, design, and implementation of new and existing features of the NPM+ and AppResponse tools.
  • Continually improve the overall output quality of the team, through thoughtful code reviews
  • Mentor team members and collaborate with them on personal and career growth
  • Help set and uphold a trusting environment, with regular 1:1’s focused on feedback and recognition
  • Hire, interview, and on-board new members of the team
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and business counterparts to build innovative solutions

What Makes You An Ideal Candidate

  • BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in managing software development teams
  • 6+ years’ experience of hands-on software development, with at least 3 years’ experience with C++ and Linux
  • Experience with one or more methodologies like waterfall, SCRUM, Kanban
  • You’ve built large and complex projects at scale, and maintained them over many release cycles
  • Experience working with distributed teams in different time zones
  • Hands-on development under Linux using containerized processes
  • Knowledge of Linux kernel networking stack
  • Knowledge of MacOS kernel networking stack
