Senior Project Manager
This company is a Japanese entertainment company under one of the largest global entertainment companies. You will join one of the cutting edge projects of establishing an enterprise solution, specifically for Human Resources (HR) management. You will collaborate with stakeholders in both Japan and the United States to analyze current state, propose delivery timeline, and help execute the implementation.
This position will require candidate to be in Osaka, Japan. We are open to candidate who wishes to be based in other areas of Japan and overseas candidates.
Responsibilities
Work with the Head of Japan IT, local IT teams in Osaka, and corporate counterparts in the United States.
Create the workback schedule, understand what tasks need to be completed, and delegate/assign tasks to individuals/teams.
Communicate and build relationship with various stakeholders within the company beyond the IT Team (Creatives, Marketing, Sales, Crew Team, etc) to understand how each function operate their HR process. Understand “norms” and negotiate with various stakeholders to create a cohesive solution.
Be a bridge between Japanese and US counterparts, both with technology and culture.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors of Science in Software Engineering or equivalent academic qualification or work experience
5+ years of experience in IT with strong experience managing IT projects from start to finish.
Past experience leading multiyear projects that involve cross functional and cross locational teams, especially one in a bilingual environment.
Strong ability to have discussions to distill tasks/actions across project members, and ensured that these tasks are done on time.
Exceptional ability to manage various levels of stakeholders (engineers, vendors, C-level Executives). Needs to be able to set agendas and drive meetings with distilled and high level points for project status and any asks.
Strong bilingual capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong subject matter expertise in Human Resources systems
Past experience in migration of legacy to modern systems
Experience with SAP products
Work experience in the entertainment industry
