Specification Manager
Field based (see below for details)
Full-time, 5 days per week

As the Southern Specification Manager, you will be at the forefront of shaping a high-performing, motivated, and commercially astute team of Project Specification Managers & Specification Support colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach, mentor, and develop – unlock the full potential of your team by providing ongoing support, tailored development plans, and best-in-class training to sharpen technical expertise and consultative sales capabilities. 
  • Drive performance and engagement – set and exceed ambitious specification targets, ensuring a laser focus on identifying and converting new project opportunities. 
  • Build strategic, influential relationships – engage with key specifier accounts, local authorities, and contractors, positioning Marshalls as the market leader and go-to partner. 
  • Supercharge the Marshalls Design Space – ensure it operates as a dynamic, inspiring, and high-impact hub, strengthening our brand influence and customer engagement.

We are looking for an exceptional leader who can motivate, engage, and inspire a team to exceed expectations. You will be a natural communicator and influencer, with the ability to connect with senior stakeholders, create enthusiasm, and drive commercial success through a strong specification strategy. 

To excel in this role, you will need: 

  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of building, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams. 
  • A passion for motivating others, creating an environment where people feel empowered and driven to succeed. 
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to link specification strategy to business success, ensuring higher margins and an improved product mix. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills, with the confidence and gravitas to engage and influence at all levels. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • A proactive and strategic mindset, always seeking ways to enhance results, overcome challenges, and identify new opportunities. 
  • Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, CRM systems, and other relevant IT tools. 


This is a field-based role covering London, the South East, and the South West, including major cities such as London, Brighton, Reading, Southampton, Bristol, Exeter, and Plymouth. The role would require travel across Greater London, Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset, Devon, and Cornwall.
