Splunk, a Cisco company, is building a safer and more resilient digital world with an end-to-end full stack platform made for a hybrid, multi-cloud world. Leading enterprises use our unified security and observability platform to keep their digital systems secure and reliable. Our customers love our technology, but it's our caring employees that make Splunk stand out as an amazing career destination. No matter where in the world or what level of the organization, we approach our work with kindness. So bring your work experience, problem-solving skills and talent, of course, but also bring your joy, your passion and all the things that make you, you. Come help organizations be their best, while you reach new heights with a team that has your back.
Role Summary
Are you passionate about turning business and technical information into engaging storytelling? Splunk is looking for a highly motivated and analytical person to join our Proposals and Programs team.
You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating daily with sellers, project managers, and internal business specialists. The role will involve identifying and building answers to questions from Splunk customers on a variety of topics as well as developing and documenting internal business processes. In our agile and fast-paced environment, the team is continuously creating and updating a repository of authoritative data and processes with improvements and new features.
Meet the Team
The Proposals and Programs Team lives within the Deal Strategy and Execution Team ("DSE") which is under Splunk's Go To Market Operations organization. The team consists of the Proposals team which handles responses to customer's requests for proposals ("RFx") and the Programs team that supports by creating and communicating Splunk-wide programs, processes, and enablement.
What you'll get to do
  • Intake and process incoming RFx requests from sellers
  • Review, complete and customize RFP, RFI and RFQ responses from data repository and collaborating with specialists on various internal teams to develop answers
  • Complete and assist in processing go-no go analyses, project kick-off meetings, strategy sessions and proposal project planning
  • Ensure responses follow brand style and tone guidelines
  • Verify that responses address key customer hot buttons and win themes
  • Assist with proposal knowledge management and retention of answers for future use and template and repository development
  • Assist with development and maintenance of Proposals and Programs policies and procedures for internal use
Must-have Qualifications
  • 15+ years of validated experience creating and developing SaaS solutions proposals in support of sales teams in response to commercial and public RFx/tenders, contracting, administration, and proposal activities
  • Strong interpersonal skills - and ability to form successful relationships and collaborate and work across functional teams; and
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to balance high workload of multiple requests and projects with short timeframes.
Nice-to-have Qualifications
We’ve taken special care to separate the must-have qualifications from the nice-to-haves. “Nice-to-have” means just that: Nice. To. Have. So, don’t worry if you can’t check off every box. We’re not hiring a list of bullet points–we’re interested in the whole you.
  • Juris Doctorate or contract drafting and administration experience;
  • Technical knowledge of Splunk offerings and ability to discuss technical features internally and with customers;
  • Data analysis and trend analysis experience;
  • Experience with Salesforce as well as proposal management software; and
