Job description

As an Academic Advisor in our Online Student Services group, you will support and mentor students from the point of enrollment through graduation. Our students are enrolled in traditional courses and online programs and will require the majority of their support by phone and email. You will be the student’s primary point of contact. You will not only provide daily support but will also be expected to motivate, inspire, and challenge students as they progress through their degree programs. You will support enrollment, student development, and retention services while ensuring high-quality learning per school, company, regulatory, and accreditation standards and policies.

Qualifications

  • Manage cohort of students through completion of a degree program
  • Work closely with students by phone and online
  • Coach and inspire students while providing academic support
  • Encourage and support students as they learn how to properly navigate through the learning management system
  • Guide students through the onboarding process, familiarizing them with available resources
  • Function as a liaison between departments
  • Gain a thorough understanding of all relevant policies and procedures related to available degree programs
  • Direct retention activities for continuing and re-entry students through re-enrollment activities and attendance tracking
  • Perform other duties as needed

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Preferred Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in academic advising, student services, admissions, or student finance
  • Prior knowledge of academic policies and procedures preferred
