Job description

Compensation: $83,000-$105,000 per year. You are eligible to a Short-Term Incentive Plan with the target at 7.5% of your annual earnings, terms and conditions apply.
 
Business Systems Analyst (EMR/EHR)- Remote, USA 
 
As a business systems analyst working with the IT Delivery organization at Ambry Genetics, you will analyze and define system requirements to support the software products in the clinical genetics domain area. The BSA will oversee the software enhancements through the entire SDLC, from discovery, design, development, and validation. The BSA is responsible for communicating technical and functional requirements with stakeholders and users, creating Jira tickets detailing requirements for the Engineering team, creating timelines for deliverables, and reporting project status updates upon request. At Ambry Genetics, you will have the opportunity to create innovative solutions and leverage the latest technologies to make our diagnostics-testing even better. The ideal candidate should have a combined knowledge of both the business and technical environments. Knowledge of genetics, genetic testing, and/or healthcare industry is nice to have a sense of humor is a must.
 
Essential Functions
  • Required: Experience with EHR Systems & HL7/FHIR Standa 
    •  Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) platforms such as Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, eCW or Athen
    •  Strong understanding of HL7, FHIR, CCD, and X12 data exchange standards used in healthcare interoperabili
  • Technical Proficiency in Data Mapping & ETL Integration Tools
    •  Experience with integration engines (Mirth Connect, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, or InterSystems Ensemble)
    •  Ability to perform data mapping between EHR systems and external applications.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Regulatory Compliance
    •  Familiarity with HIPAA, HITECH, 21st Century Cures Act, and other healthcare regulations.
    • Understanding of data security and privacy requirements in clinical data exchanges.
  • Business & Stakeholder Management Skills
    • Ability to gather requirements from healthcare providers, IT teams, and third-party vendors.
    • Experience in writing Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specifications.
  • Experience with API & System Integrations
    • Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON/XML for integrating with EHR systems.
    • Understanding of single sign-on (SSO), authentication, and access control in healthcare environments.
  • General BSA responsibilities:
    • Collect, synthesize, and document requirements following standards to ensure clear communication with business stakeholders and IT internal stakeholders.
    • Work with Technical Leads to develop solutions that align with defined business logic, goals, and objectives, and determine the technical and operational feasibility of a solution, including identifying technical constraints as well as impact to other systems and workflows.
    • Work with QAs to test and validate developed features against requirements and coordinate end user validation.
    • Partner with our Digital Health Organization stakeholders on EMR/EHR related efforts to expand Ambry’s footprints and presence into more healthcare organizations and institutions.
    • Provide support to the EMR/EHR clients with technical issues and troubleshooting when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned 
Qualifications 
  • 3+ years experience as a technical BSA 
  • EMR/EHR integration experiences, especially Epic, Epic Aura
  • Bachelor or advanced degree in Computer Science (or similar relevant specialization) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Professional knowledge and experience using JIRA, Confluence
  • Knowledge in SDLC, AGILE and SCRUM methodologies
Preferred
  • Healthcare or biotech industry experiences
