Job description

JOB TITLE: Customer Success QA Automation Engineer (remote)

LOCATION: Latin American locations only – Remote
COMMITMENT: Fulltime

ABOUT US:

SkilldLabs is a product built from the challenges of our past. Hiring quality talent, working together in the same time-zone, and building cutting edge products at warp speed. We help startups overcome today's hiring challenges. Today, we have grown into a leading staff augmentation provider of highly skilled teams of nearshore experts.

Our client is an early-stage startup transforming how companies approach testing their software. As experienced builders, we understand the challenges of QA testing firsthand—writing and maintaining test suites is time-consuming, tedious, and diverts valuable engineering resources from building impactful features.

With recent breakthroughs in AI, we’re revolutionizing the QA process. Our AI-driven platform enables companies to describe testing requirements in plain English, automatically generating reliable Playwright tests and maintaining them over time—eliminating the need for manual test writing.

We are a fast-moving, collaborative team that prioritizes practical solutions over perfection, challenges traditional approaches, and builds tools that meaningfully improve developers’ workflows.

Role

We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join our Customer Success team. This is not a typical QA role—you’ll operate at the intersection of test automation and customer success, helping customers maximize the value of our AI-driven platform. You’ll play a pivotal role in implementing automated testing solutions, ensuring system reliability, and serving as a key point of contact for customer support and onboarding. Your work will directly contribute to helping our customers revolutionize their testing workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with customers to identify critical testing needs and implement tailored automated solutions, ensuring smooth experience and support.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, guiding customers through onboarding, best practices, troubleshooting processes and be on call if test failures come in.
  • Generate, maintain, and stabilize Playwright tests using our AI platform.
  • Configure and manage CI/CD integrations across various customer environments.
  • Troubleshoot test failures and deliver timely solutions, providing hands-on support during customer development cycles.
  • Use internal tools to create tests and triage test runs (Work with computer-generated code and process it)
  • Configure GitHub CI actions for seamless workflow.
  • Handle Docker containerization for customer environments.
  • Partner with internal teams to refine and enhance our platform based on customer feedback and needs.
  • Create and maintain customer-facing resources, including documentation, tutorials, and FAQs, to ensure seamless adoption of our tools.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in software engineering, test automation, or a customer-facing technical role.
  • Strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills.
  • Proficiency in web technologies, including HTML, APIs, and selectors.
  • Experience with CI/CD and containerization tools, Github and Docker.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong customer-service mindset.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible language for customers.

Ideal Candidate

  • Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities.
  • Balances technical expertise with a practical, customer-focused approach.
  • Excels at managing relationships and solving problems collaboratively with customers.
  • Handles ambiguous challenges with creativity and independence.
