Are you a detail-oriented leader with a passion for ensuring access to legal resources?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Correction Library Coordinator, onsite at Columbia River Correctional Institution (CRCI) in Portland, Oregon.
You will schedule attorney-client calls and law library appointments in accordance with relevant laws and policies and collaborate with security staff to coordinate the adult in custody’s availability. This position will require working with a wide variety of stakeholders including adults in custody, legal counsel, and institution staff.
The best person for this job has good prioritization skills, integrity, and strong boundaries. They are excited about an opportunity to serve adults in custody looking to learn more and navigate the legal system while maintaining the security and policies of the institution.
This position is represented by American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). This position may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.
Preference will be given to applicants with library training or experience.
Courses or training in Office Occupations or Office Technology may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience.

Working inside of a secure facility including daily contact with adults in custody. May provide coverage at other institutions as necessary.

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.

The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, there may be some felony convictions that could disqualify you for this position.
