Overview & Responsibilities
The Process Improvement Manager is responsible for selecting current products, components or processes to be analyzed and evaluated, with the purpose of establishing efficient and cost-effective processes that ensure the production of high-quality products and services. The activities shall consider all aspects of the design and production of products and services.
The Process Improvement Manager will be responsible for the evaluation process, justification of improvements, and implementation plans, as well as facilitating activities to integrate improvements into the business. The current processes will be thoroughly reviewed, improved, documented, and implemented.
To improve key performance objectives such as costs, on-time deliveries, cost of quality, and safety, the position must take a leadership role in identifying, planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and auditing processes across all functional areas, suppliers, and customers. Additionally, the position must support the rollout of new established procedures and work instructions into new satellite operations to further improve delivery, quality, and cost reduction.
Team leader and facilitator of cross functional process teams as assigned to achieve cost savings and product/service function improvements.
Manage critical and highly visible projects from conception to implementation.
Lead and complete projects including Value Add/Value Engineering and Should Cost Analysis.
Utilize Six Sigma, lean tools and techniques, or other methods to gather and analyze data, develop action plans and implement solutions to achieve cost savings and product/service function improvements.
Communicate in a professional, positive, courteous manner at all times with all levels of business associates.
Develop and implement short-term and long-term corrective action plans to improve product/service and process quality, cycle time, productivity, and equipment downtime.
Work with key business stakeholders and identified resources to build and maintain a continuous improvement environment to support an ongoing program of change within the organization.
Establish criteria for tracking and reporting value improvements.
Identify Process Changes and Work Instruction (WI) requirements, identify appropriate WI owner and facilitate WI generation.
Support regional team in PI projects - identify, facilitate, coach employees in tools and techniques in project development. Develop and deliver training programs to support process improvements.
Complete post implementation reviews to ensure successful delivery has been achieved and that the results are sustainable. Ensure that improvements can be made for future projects
Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operations.
Perform data analysis and create custom queries and reports.
Drive improvements of system data integrity.
Develop process maps, standard operating procedures, and work instructions to ensure consistent and efficient execution of processes across different entities.
Complete post implementation reviews to ensure successful delivery has been achieved and that the results are sustainable. Ensure that improvements can be made for future projects
Establish and sustain regional Quality System
A bachelor's degree is required, plus 5-9 years of proven continuous improvement analytical experience in process improvement or similar role.
Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to establish priorities and effectively manage time to complete multiple tasks within specified time frames.
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment, including the ability to lead without authority.
Ability to apply problem solving techniques, with process management and facilitation skills.
Ability to confidently communicate to all levels of the organization and external contacts. Ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a diverse multi-cultural team environment
Strong analytical skills in defect prevention, root cause analysis and problem resolution, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into operational requirements
Strong facilitation skills and project management skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Exhibits analytical skills in defect prevention, root cause analysis, problem resolution.
External certifications or extensive experience with Six Sigma, lean methodologies, process improvement techniques, etc. is required. Certified Lean Six Sigma black belt or equivalent.
Strong understanding of process improvement methodologies, data analysis and change management principles.
Proven experience in establishing and driving key management systems, such as ISO implementation.
Experience in the OEM equipment and service industry is preferred.
