The position is in our Data Platform Engineering team, which is helping our customers engineer smart and well-informed decisions, by harvesting the power of diverse and well-curated healthcare data, at scale. This team enables curated extracts of data for our customers to use in advanced analytics for healthcare research. Working in this team will give you an opportunity to work with large data processing and multithreading. 

Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, deploy, test, support technical solutions using full-stack development tools and technologies 
  • Design and develop user friendly, responsive web interfaces using modern web application frameworks   
  • Utilize programming languages like Java, SQL, Python (for the backend) and Angular (for the frontend) 
  • Should have expert level knowledge in RDBMS/SQL and NoSQL databases 
  • Deploy the micro services seamlessly using Container Orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS managed services and tools 
  • Adept at troubleshooting complex distributed systems and performance issues 
  • Should be a team player, fast learner who can excel in fast-paced agile environments 
  • Collaborate with other engineers, services across Inovalon, and external customers to understand requirements, have tight feedback loop that is data driven. 
  • Adhere to all confidentiality, HIPAA, regulatory, and other such policies, procedures, and requirements as outlined within Employer’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the scope of work. 
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement, and fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success 

 

Required qualifications (Must Have’s): 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology or computer science. 
  • At least 10 years' experience in Enterprise Java development 
  • At least 5 Years’ experience with JavaScript (with modern UI frameworks like Angular, React or Vue.js) 
  • At least 5 years’ experience in SQL technologies. 
  • Demonstrated experience in Caching, queuing, scheduling, concurrent and event-driven architectures 
  • Demonstrated experience of developing applications on/for Linux platforms 
  • At least 4 years of proven track record of implementing distributed systems and microservice architectures (RESTful APIs) 
  • Evolved knowledge of best practices for implementing secure web applications 
  • At least 3 years' experience with AWS (preferred), Microsoft Azure, GCP and/or other clouds  
  • At least 5 years with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment techniques 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in engineering or technology or computer science. 
  • 1+ years' experience in data pipelines would be an added advantage. 
  • 2+ years' experience in Big Data technologies like Snowflake, Datastax would be a plus 

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

  • Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time). 
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force. 
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions. 
  • Travel for this position will include less than 10% locally, usually for training purposes.

In addition to the base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range
$128,600$165,000 USD
