As the Compliance and Implementation Specialist, you will work under the guidance of the Director of Implementation, to ensure that company policies, procedures, and operations comply with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal guidelines. This role also oversees the successful implementation of compliance programs, process improvements, and regulatory changes across the organization. You’ll work closely with medical directors, practice managers, and other support team members to identify critical initiatives requiring standardization, optimization, and process improvement. Inclusive of state veterinary medicine regulatory boards, controlled substance and compounding regulations, facility health and safety regulations, and minimum standards of care. This position is full-time, reporting directly to the Director of Implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance
Implement Controlled Substance Policy which contains a process for hospital accountability.
Develop training and tracking of Controlled Substance Policy and update as needed.
Partner with Legal Department to reply to State Board Responses.
Support PLIT submissions.
Oversee DOR (Doctor of Record) transfers- facilitate the transfer and work with cross functional partners.
Develop, implement, train and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements with cross functional partners.
Work with cross functional partnership for appropriate management of general liability claims.
Develop necessary training for onboarding new team members.
Partner with cross functional teams for the creation and the implementation of compliance and risk mitigation policies and procedures.
Conduct regular audits of regulatory policy adherence and analyze audit results.
Analyze internal business systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Investigate and act on compliance matters and/or complaints including support of corrective actions.
Conduct periodic risk assessments to determine potential gaps that could result in violations.
Update policies and procedures as needed when regulations evolve
Support internal monitoring and auditing of the compliance program to measure effectiveness and address deficiencies.
Implementation and Training Support
Partner with Director of Implementation and the Operations team to implement strategic initiatives.
Create training for and support the implementation of new policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, in Veterinary Science, Animal Science or related preferred
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a professional setting in the realm of compliance. Veterinary industry experience preferred.
In-depth knowledge of industry standards, rules, and regulations.
Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Compliance certification is a plus.
Training and education development skills.
Ability to work independently and remotely.
Job Location:
Remote (90%) with up to 10% travel required
Salary:
$70,000-$85,000
Physical Requirements:
Frequent work at a computer for 90-100% of the time.
Frequent ability to carry our instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form to solve problems involving several variables.
