Carilion Clinic has an excellent opportunity for an HR Specialist 1 in our HR Operations department. Responsible for answering talent, performance and career development questions related to certifications and education requirements, performance management, talent profiles and more. The HR Specialist 1 will collaborate with many of our HR Centers of Expertise to help provide guidance to front line leaders around conversations and feedback, end of orientation conversations and performance management. Will also assist with projects and contribute to other duties as needed. Expected to work under minimal management supervision. Uses discretion and/or good judgment on more complex subjects.

What We Require:
Education: Bachelor's degree or 8 years equivalent experience required
Experience: One year's related experience in Human Resources required.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: None required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Must possess excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills. Demonstrated analytical thinking and interpersonal skills. Must work well in a team environment and have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs required. Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to work on multiple tasks/projects while meeting deadlines, work with Excel spreadsheets, and exhibit flexibility in an environment of changing priorities. Extremely detail and action oriented required.
