What You’ll Do

Design, develop, implement, and configure cloud system administration environments and tools. Implement security controls and security features to support and address cybersecurity challenges on PaaS and IaaS environments. Apply consulting and technical expertise and full industry knowledge on VA cloud solution tailoring. Develop or support innovative solutions to complex problems. Define, communicate, and implement cloud architecture and administration processes for VA platforms. Apply technical expertise and industry knowledge to programs and projects.  Work independently within established procedures and practices, serving as an informal lead or mentor to junior team members. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.
 

Standard support hours are between 7am to 9pm EST. This work will include on-call support during weekends, holidays, or off-hours, as required.   

• 5 years of experience with configuring cloud administrative environments and tools in AWS GovCloud
• 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes specifically EKS cluster to manage and automate container orchestration
• Experience using Terraform to define, build, and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) across multiple environments or Cloud Formation
• Experience with defining secure-based cloud architecture while adhering to development methodologies, engineering, and cloud standards 
• Experience with providing detailed guidance to engineering team members creating administrative processes and procedures to share with others
• Experience with performing operational and day-to-day administrative support functions including troubleshooting of issues and support of change and problem management processes
• Experience with deploying and troubleshooting with HashiCorp Consul/Vault 
• Experience working within multiple Cloud Service Providers (AWS GovCloud, AWS Commercial and Azure)
• Experience with Ansible to help support Operations by automating processes in our Cloud Environment for server provisioning and configuration
• Knowledge on using Elasticsearch for data query analytics and Kibana for log and event analysis
• Ability to work with Nexus Repository and understand the technology to help troubleshoot for Developers by maintaining build artifacts
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Math or equivalent with 5 years of professional experience or a total of 13 in lieu of education
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with additional CI/CD and DevSecOps tools such as Jenkins, Jira, Slack, Bitbucket, GitHub, Docker, or others
• Experience managing resources, Active Directory, and other network assets in a cloud environment, preferably AWS 
• Ability to demonstrate the leadership behaviors to effectively communicate, coordinate, collaborate, and work in a visible and proactive manner across boundaries to deliver positive results 
• Highly engaging, team-oriented, customer-focused, self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic 
• Understanding of security best practices, including securing infrastructure, automating security checks, and ensuring compliance
• Proven ability to automate processes, reducing manual tasks and improving infrastructure efficiency
