Job Description

Responsibilities

Lead the engineering team on the migration from PHP monoliths to the new microservices architecture
Lead the end-to-end development of scalable and high-performance solutions ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements
Design and development of microservices (JAVA) in accordance with established standards
Ensure proper service alarmistic, monitoring and incident mitigation practices are in place
Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget
Organize the software development life cycle from code to release, strategically partnering with Product Managers to effectively deliver high impact solutions
Coach and support the team overseeing individual and team growth

Requirements

3+ years experience managing a team of engineers, overseeing their career growth
5+ years of work experience as a Java Software Engineer
Knowledge of architecture/design methods and patterns, data and API specifications, quality assurance, and testing methods
Experience in software development, supporting the design and development of large-scale, distributed software applications
Experience with MySQL, Postgres, and working with large data volumes
Experience with microservices and cloud architectures (ex. Google Cloud Platform, Docker)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply logical and analytical thinking to complex problems
Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team

Nice to have

Prior knowledge of PHP 7+, Laravel and Symfony knowledge is a plus
Prior experience of ElasticSearch is a plus
