We are currently hiring a Site Budget & Contracts Specialist I to join our team! In this role, you’ll play a critical role in supporting clinical trial operations by managing and negotiating site budgets and contracts. You will ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, company policies, and study-specific requirements while collaborating with internal teams, clinical sites, and sponsors. This role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of both the financial and legal aspects of clinical trials.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and negotiate clinical trial budgets with study sites, ensuring alignment with sponsor expectations and regulatory requirements
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize clinical trial agreements (CTAs) and other relevant site contracts, such as confidentiality agreements and letters of indemnification, etc.
  • Apply to clinical trial agreements, and other relevant site contracts through drafting and review a thorough working knowledge of applicable, relevant rules and regulations related to sponsored research
  • Liaise with legal teams, sponsors, and sites to resolve contractual issues and finalize agreements within defined timelines
  • Work directly with the Study Start-up Leads and sponsors to develop budgeting parameters and variance trackers at the level of the individual clinical trial
  • Benchmark budget components against industry standards and internal guidelines to ensure competitive and fair terms
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for site budget and contract inquiries, coordinating with internal project teams, sponsors, and site representatives
  • Collaborate with Study Start-up teams, Clinical Team Leads, Project Managers, and Legal teams to align contractual deliverables with overall study timelines
  • Track and manage changes to site budgets and contracts throughout the life cycle of a clinical trial, including amendments and budget reconciliation
  • Maintain accurate records of all budget and contact negotiations, approvals, and final versions in designated systems or repositories
  • Identify opportunities to streamline budget and contract workflows to improve efficiency and timeliness
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or Legal Studies along with at least 2 years experience in site budget and/or contracts management in the CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotech industry; legal background or paralegal certification a plus
  • Familiarity with clinical trial operations, GCP, and relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, EMA); experience working with global clinical trials familiarity with international regulatory requirements
  • Analytical mindset with a strong understanding of financial and legal terminology related to clinical research; knowledge of Fair Market Value (FMV) principles in clinical trial budgeting
  • Proficiency in budget and contract management systems and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Strong Communicator and negotiator: Demonstrate written, verbal and presentation skills to help showcase the successes of your work and Rho’s and manage complex interactions with stakeholders.

As required by pay transparency laws in some states, Rho provides the range of starting compensation (annual salary or hourly rate) it reasonably expects to pay for a given role. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to role responsibilities and location as well as candidate skill set and level of experience. The range of starting pay for this role is $XX,000-$XX,000 per year (or $XX.XX-$XX.XX per hour).
