Position Summary:
The Product Owner is responsible for overseeing development and continuous improvement of specifics business capabilities within the organization. This role will develop expertise of our industry, clients, and the capabilities we offer through collaboration with our Product and Technical teams. The Product Owner will understand business requirements for product support, enhancements and major feature developments while managing against technical needs to continuously improve the capability. This role will engage directly with the development team to ensure capabilities are built and improved to meet client and internal team product needs. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams (technical and non-technical) to define capabilities, identify gaps, and drive initiatives that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Define and articulate the vision, strategy, and roadmap for assigned capabilities, incorporating product manager defined strategy with technical advancements and priorities to advance organization towards achieving enterprise goals
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding capability-related inquiries, collaboration requests as well as production support for issues triaging, responding, resolving, and adhering to department service level agreements (SLA)
  • Collaborate with client and internal teams, as applicable, to develop business processes, analyze existing processes and maintain required and supportive documentation specific to capability and ecosystem integration points. This documentation includes, but is not limited to, detailed workflow requirements, functional designs, data flow diagrams, and document data mapping
  • Decompose features, with stakeholder and product manager engagement, into manageable user stories, ensuring clarity for development and focusing on incremental value delivery to gain user feedback quickly
  • Maintain a well-refined backlog reflecting most valuable work for the development team. 
  • Collaborate with development team on testing strategies which provide clear value and support efficient delivery, meeting business needs
  • Provide business context and designee for development team, ensuring completed features meet success criteria ahead of production deployment
  • Collaborate and support implementation team Functional Business Owner on new implementation and expansions
  • Assist with maintaining and documenting system integrations across capabilities tracking data flow and business flow use cases that support continuous improvement and mitigate traceable errors
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of assigned capabilities
  • Monitor and report on assigned capability performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement
  • Analyze current processes and systems to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Lead initiatives to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall capability performance
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and adaptation within the team, encouraging feedback and innovation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent experience and IT certifications may be considered in lieu of education
  • 5 years of experience as an analyst or Agile product owner. Technical expertise is a plus, not required
  • Healthcare experience a plus
  • SQL writing experience and Software Technology Life Cycle (STLC) development experience a plus
Skills:
  • Strong analytical, data mapping, problem-solving, and business skills to extract implicit, unstated, and unrecognized requirements
  • Strong skills working within a flexible, collaborative working environments with the team members and stakeholders
  • Effective meeting management skills to initiate, develop agenda, conduct, and communicate decisions
  • Ability to conceptualize and understand ecosystem integration across company, identifying risks and dependencies which could impact delivery
  • Up to date knowledge of current enterprise standards, industry standards and technologies, methodologies, and best practices
  • Strong attention to detail including precise and effective communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
