Job Description

The primary aim of our product management team is to bring new products to market, and then refine the products and strategy to meet revenue targets. PMs are typically assigned a product (an AI algorithm for scanned microscopy slides with its corresponding workflow) and are expected to create and execute a strategy that aligns with the company's strategy, product platform, revenue targets, and processes. PMs own products throughout all phases of the lifecycle, but typically PMs spend more of their energy launching new algorithms rather than fine-tuning on-market solutions.

Working as a Product Manager is mentally challenging, but usually maintain reasonable hours. Our PMs regularly interface with technical experts in medicine, biology, laboratory operations, clinical research, regulatory affairs, optics, machine learning, and software development, but at times may need to fill holes in expertise themselves. PMs are in charge of combining multi-disciplinary knowledge into a shared team vision for the product. This overarching vision also encompasses a comprehensive commercialization strategy aligned with the company's objectives and values. Product Managers regularly interact with partner customers, development teams, a data manager, and management.

Responsibilities

  • Define business requirements based on partner needs and help drive contracts. Push needs towards existing solutions first, then work with development teams to fill the gaps with new reusable platform features.
  • Test your product to validate that it is built and configured to specifications. Develop materials for the transfer of information to sales, support, and integration teams so they can do it in the future.
  • Apply judgment in strong cross-functional interactions to help reach good decisions, then help to message them out to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with developer teams and data managers to quickly and cost-effectively build products
  • Develop a product roadmap and market strategy. Anticipate and prevent roadblocks.
  • Increase revenue by enhancing on-market solutions by getting feedback from partners, UX, support, marketing, and sales
  • Review validation study protocols to make sure they match the claims of your product. When necessary, travel to study sites to ensure they are performed correctly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM (MBA is a plus), or have significant software experience
  • 5+ years of software product management experience (management experience is a plus)
  • Understanding of basic statistical concepts, including proper sampling methods, standard deviation, false positives, false negatives, problems with out-of-population inferences, sample size, and margin of error
  • Demonstrated success in defining, launching, and maintaining successful software
  • Data-driven, logical, and cross-discipline collaboration skills with a deep understanding of product management best practices
  • Proven independent and proactive leadership
  • Ability to travel to conferences, customers, and partner sites
  • Ability to analyze data in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
