QA Test Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The QA Engineer will take an active role and ownership in the creation of the test automation framework, developing automated test suites and test cases for our core systems. The ideal candidate is highly technical, detail-oriented, creative, and focused on achieving results. They will collaborate with QA, PMO, IT and business users to design and implement automated test solutions to maximize testing coverage and reduce manual testing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Design, develop and maintain test automation framework. Create and maintain robust test automation frameworks, test suites, and test scripts to support automated testing for various applications.
• Execute manual and automated test scripts, though mainly focused on executing automated test scripts.
• Collaboration with cross functional team members in defining test automation strategies and framework to minimize manual testing and provide wider coverage of functionality.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to debug and troubleshoot issues especially with the test automation framework and test scripts.
• Ability to train and mentor the QA team on using and writing effective automation test scripts.  
• Own the traceability of testing objectives, requirements, design, test plans & training plans.
• Effectively facilitate meetings, demonstrate brainstorming / consensus building skills, and interact with peers and management level team members.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, participating in professional societies.
• Performs other activities, duties and assignments as needed or requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

3-5 years of experience as QA Engineer or SDET required.

2-4 years hands on experience in test automation using Open-Source tools such as Playwright using TypeScript, Python, or Java required.

Framework Design and Development – Proficiency in designing and developing scalable, stable and maintainable test automation frameworks

Create and Maintain Libraries – Proficiency in creating and maintaining libraries to enhance automated capabilities

Experience with UI and API test automation

Proven background of analytical thinking and problem solving. Strong ability to think analytically, critically, and creatively to assess and resolve complex systems in all aspects of quality.

Strong proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook) required.

Strong communication/interpersonal skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is located in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and requires the physical demands of a normal office position with some light lifting. This is a full-time position with benefits.
