Responsibilities

Established in July 2019, the Ascension Data Sciences Institute was created with the mission of supporting Ascension in achieving its Quadruple Aim through uniquely skilled, high-performing associates. Our associates develop analyses, models, and applications to enable higher value healthcare and strategic decision-making across the organization.

ADSI Comprises Six Domains Focusing On

Clinical Quality and Patient Safety,
Health Economics and Clinical Outcomes,
Strategic Operations and Financial Analytics,
Actuarial and Managed Care Analytics,
Registry Abstraction Healthcare Solutions,
Healthcare Data Intelligence.

In a complex and rapidly evolving healthcare environment, our objective is for advanced analytics and data science to play a critical and foundational role in transforming care delivery, quality, and financial outcomes. This initiative is vital for maintaining and enhancing our organization's competitive advantage.

Job Responsibilities

Partner with analytics staff to research and investigate key business problems and support by providing healthcare, operational and financial data for quantitative analysis.
Interpret outliers, patterns, and trends using internal and external datasets; compile recommendations; and present findings.
Complete a capstone project and present to ADSI at the end of summer.
Perform additional clerical duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline required.

Additional Preferences

Have an understanding of SQL to access and manipulate data sources.
Ability to compile and analyze multiple data sources to support various types of projects.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (such as Tableau or Looker).
Formulate hypotheses, define problems, and use data analysis to make informed recommendations.
Experience in using Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence and Oracle Analytics Cloud applications is a plus.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
