About the role


We are looking for an experienced Accountant to oversee and maintain the financial records for our real estate investment funds. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, preferably in real estate or investment management, and is detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy and efficiency. The role will require working closely with our internal teams and external auditors to ensure compliance with accounting standards and investment objectives.


Responsibilities:

1- General Accounting & Bookkeeping:

  • Maintain and update the general ledger for multiple real estate investment funds and entities.
  • Process journal entries, including those related to property acquisitions, sales, and operations.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, investment accounts, and intercompany transactions.


2- Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for each fund, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Generate investor reports, fund performance summaries, and other ad hoc financial analyses.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for fund audits and annual tax returns.


3- Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Support fund budgeting processes, including operating budgets and capital expenditure planning.
  • Monitor variances and provide insights on fund performance relative to projections.


3- Compliance & Controls:

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and partnership agreements.
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard fund assets and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Work with property management and third-party vendors to review and reconcile property-level financials.


4- Transaction Support:

  • Collaborate with the asset management teams on due diligence for financings and capital raising.
  • Record and track all property-level transactions, including purchase price allocations and depreciation schedules.


Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on real estate or investment funds.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and tools, with preference for QuickBooks, AppFolio or similar systems.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with fund structures, investor reporting, and real estate transactions.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to build and maintain complex financial models.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Compensation: Begins at $2,000
