Description

Join us as Senior UI/UX Designer! You will be working on Ascendant, our fast-paced squad-based FPS to be released on Steam. Joining at a critical time in development, as Senior UI/UX Designer you will have the chance to leave your mark on our wacky original title.


Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes and mockups, that leads to an intuitive user experience

  • Understand the game's audience, using player types and journeys to drive design decisions

  • Work with the Directors and Design team to build a strong user experience, minimising friction and increasing retention

  • Design and critique the iterative development of tutorials, gameplay activities and social features

  • Usability improvements of development tools (UGC)

  • Define a testing strategy, scaling from inhouse playtests to large scale beta testing

  • Use playtests, analytics and community feedback to categories player behaviours, motivations and goals, to identify issues and opportunities to increase engagement and improve the game

  • Work with the Economy team to develop ethical monetisation strategies.

  • Work with the Analytics team, Designer and Publishing teams to assess user funnels and churn rates, identifying problem areas and suggesting elegant solutions.

  • Use community feedback to prioritise quality of life improvements



Requirements

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in UX / UR / Game Design

  • Education in game design, web design, psychology or social sciences is a Bonus

  • Great understanding of different player types, and have used persona profiles to rationalise economy/retention features

  • Great understanding of user-centred design, information hierarchy, ergonomics and accessibility issues

  • Keep up to date with current trends and best practices

  • Have excellent communication skills, writing reports, presenting data, and visualising user flows (using Adobe XD, Office and other relevant software)

  • Confident pitching ideas, and using analytics/case studies to define/justify solutions

  • Can work autonomously, manage multiple tasks and collaborate with other departments

  • Proficient in Adobe suit, Figma, Ilustrator, Photoshop, After Effects
