Who We're Looking For

You are well versed in providing vision, leadership, coordination and management to drive delivery and execution of enterprise impacting projects and to lead the agile transformation of teams across the organization. This role is a highly visible leadership position, supporting Senior Management on the strategic actions, board-directed initiatives, and key performance indicators to drive the success of organizational objectives. You partner with leaders throughout the organization to closely monitor the progress of projects and take appropriate actions when necessary to ensure successful execution. Some of What You'll Do

Develop & Execute Strategy and Vision of the PMO:
  • Works closely with the Portfolio Operations and the extended Portfolio Management Board teams to ensure PMO is focused on helping speed the successful delivery of key strategic initiatives.
  • Leads the implementation of traditional and agile project management processes, methods, tools, guidelines, and standards across the organization to improve project delivery and enable business agility.
  • Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements. Responsible for department budget, including capital and expense costs related to the projects and staff under the Director’s control.
  • Regularly reviews and evaluates opportunities to improve the organization’s project management processes to achieve higher maturity.
  • Develops and implements highly effective risk management and mitigation techniques.
  • Facilitates and leads team discussions on project strategies, short and long-term project planning, opportunities for expediting timelines, identification of resource constraints and proactively identify complex project issues and risks and assure appropriate escalation.
  • Manages meetings and facilitates discussions using meeting management best practices to drive project strategy, cross-functional communication, timely and effective decision-making and successful execution of program objectives.
  • Develops agendas and summarizes key meeting discussions and decisions, tracks and maintains project development timelines, project deliverables and milestones, including understanding and communicating inter-dependencies and critical path activities.
  • Works closely with and builds strong working relationships with cross-functional team members to develop a collaborative team environment and manage timelines for project milestones and completion.

Recruit, Hire, Train, and Lead High Performing Project Managers:
  • Develops and leads a high-performance project management team including project management managers and project managers; establishing clear goals, deliverables, development opportunities, etc. for the team.
  • Manages the project prioritization and enterprise team capacity monitoring process in conjunction with the leadership team.

Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Proactively reports overall status (progress, risks, issues, dependencies) across all projects to the Management team and other key stakeholders.

Agile Framework and Transformation:
  • Defines and communicates best practices for Agile teams and Agile release trains.
  • Helps PMO teams and Project teams with the resolution of organizational impediments their project execution and use of Agile practices.
  • Implements and supports standard and Agile project management tools (PPM, Microsoft Project, JIRA, Jira Align and Confluence).

Performs special projects as assigned.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management Engineering, or other relevant field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in project management/PMO, with at least 5 years’ experience in a management role.
  • PMP or CAPM certification required. Agile Certification desired.
  • Solid understanding of project management techniques, methodologies, and best practices. Hands-on experience with Agile frameworks like SAFe, SCRUM, XP, Lean & Kanban.
  • Experience with running multiple software, hardware and other PMO programs end-to-end.
  • Strong presentation skills both verbal and written.
  • Solid negotiation, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of waterfall and agile software development processes and procedures.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and variable environment.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across an organization and at all levels.
  • Strong executive reporting capabilities and ability to summarize complex concepts for an executive audience.
