Role Summary
We are a small, dynamic team developing a product focused on optimizing the cost and performance of cloud services. We are looking for a driven and results-oriented engineer who thrives in an independent, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate excels at problem-solving, has a strong understanding of k8s and cloud infrastructure, and is eager to take ownership of complex challenges to deliver impactful solutions with minimal supervision. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to a high-impact area of our cloud operations.

What you'll get to do
  • Design, implement, test and deploy our services
  • Deliver a product to Splunk’s large install base
  • Influence and contribute to the technical decisions made within the team
  • Participate in rotating on-call duties to diagnose and solve customer issues.
  • Work with a small, highly motivated and competent team (acquired by Cisco in 2022)

 

Must-have Qualifications
  • Strong fundamentals in software engineering: data structures and algorithms
  • Experience developing software using Python, GoLang, or other programming languages
  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies and fill technical gaps on your own
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of test automation frameworks, CI/CD systems
  • Ability to document your work for the benefit of the team
  • Knowledge of REST, grpc or similar communication paradigms
  • Solid understanding of Linux containers, experience with Kubernetes 
  • Knowledge of public cloud services such as AWS, GCP, Azure preferred
  • Prior industry experience through full time employment or internships a plus

Note:

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $174,800.00 - 240,350.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $157,320.00 - 216,315.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $139,840.00 - 192,280.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
