As Business Unit Automotive & Speciality Lamps we support our vision and strategy by expanding our leading position in the automotive lighting market in OEM and Aftermarket. We are in a global leadership position in the automotive lamps business in traditional and LED applications and offer industry leading products in LED lighting to global OEM customers (e.g. with exchangeable LED light sources). We also tackle new growth opportunities in the Aftermarket with our automotive care and equipment portfolio.

Your new responsibilities

 

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Field Sales Manager to lead a team of six Area Sales Managers. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales performance, coaching and developing the team, and ensuring they achieve and exceed targets. You will work closely with senior management to develop and implement the company sales strategy, drive the UK aftermarket promotional calendar along with maintaining strong relationships with key customers. This is a field-based role requiring regular travel across the UK & Ireland.

 

  • Responsible for the delivery of all budgeted sales targets for accounts managed by the team.
  • Setting objectives and KPIs across the sales team, and monitoring performance, including sales revenue and trading margin, NPD sales performance vs. forecast, promotional campaign effectiveness, pipeline value and opportunity conversion.    
  • Lead, manage, and motivate a team of six Area Sales Managers to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Conduct regular field visits to support and coach the team, ensuring the Ring’s best practices are followed.
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews and develop training plans to enhance the skills and effectiveness of the team.
  • Conduct & lead regular sales meetings with the team, ensuring company priorities & objectives are effectively implemented.
  • Closely monitor team performance, analyse sales data, and provide actionable insights for improvement.
  • Formulate & implement the UK aftermarket promotional calendar.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Work closely with marketing and product teams to ensure alignment with sales objectives.
  • Work closely with the internal Customer Services & Coordinator teams to support and provide on time delivery of information & order queries when required.
  • Ensure the listing of new product launches, expanding our range presence and increasing share of voice vs. key competitors.
  • Attend Customer and Industry Trade Shows as required.
  • Contribute new product and sales ideas to the wider organisation and provide regular feedback on market and customer developments.
  • Work closely with the Aftermarket Key Account team to co-ordinate workouts within buying groups and ensure implementation of promotional activity at branch level.
  • Support business reporting by providing monthly input of area/sector performance for internal board reports
  • Ensure information such as meeting reports, contact details, customer audits and key points of information are recorded and captured using the CRM system where appropriate.


Who we are looking for


  • Proven experience in a field sales management role is imperative, preferably within the Automotive industry but this is not a prerequisite.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and drive a high-performing sales team.
  • Track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a field-based environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, both internally & externally.
  • Ability to analyse data and use insights to drive business decisions.
  • Team player who exercises tact and diplomacy in dealings with people throughout the organisation.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems.
  • Excellent presentation skills – verbal, written and numerical
  • Highly numerate with a solid commercial acumen.
  • Self-motivator, able to operate remotely and upon own initiative.
  • Positive and enthusiastic with an exceptional work ethic to deliver results.
  • Able to operate and demonstrate the highest levels of integrity. 
  • PC literate (with high level of understating of MS Office Word / Excel / Power Point)
  • Highly organised regarding planning, preparation, execution and follow up.
  • Willingness to regularly travel within the UK & Ireland.
  • A valid driver’s license.
