Job Description

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic financial team. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in maintaining financial accuracy across multiple entities within our organization. You’ll work with cutting-edge, industry-specific software and collaborate with a team of experienced accountants to ensure smooth financial operations. Responsibilities
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations for 10-15 different entities, including joint ventures and real estate holding companies
  • Analyze and resolve financial discrepancies by meticulously examining account information
  • Utilize our specialized MQ software (industry-specific ERP system) to manage financial tasks efficiently
  • Assist with tax-related duties and treasury operations, gaining exposure to various aspects of financial management
  • Collaborate closely with our team of staff accountants and senior accountants to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Apply GAAP principles to all accounting processes, maintaining high standards of financial integrity
  • Generate and review financial reports, contributing to the company’s overall financial strategy
  • Adapt quickly to new processes and systems, continuously improving our financial operations
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in the construction or related industries
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and their practical application
  • Proficiency in Excel and demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software systems
  • Detail-oriented mindset with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment
  • Experience with ERP systems is highly desirable; familiarity with construction industry software is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, growing business environment
  • Willingness to adapt to new challenges and contribute to process improvements
