We are seeking a talented Contracts Professional to take on a vital role in overseeing complex contracts with U.S. Government agencies, prime contractors, foreign governments, and commercial clients. This position will focus on our US Government portfolio within the Propulsion Systems business, primarily engaging with Navy and Air Force customers.

 

In this high-impact role, you will lead negotiations, manage contract deliverables, and serve as the key interface for both internal and external stakeholders. Your expertise will be essential in handling government, international, and commercial contracts, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and nurturing positive business relationships. What YOU Will Do:

  • Participate in proposal reviews and brief management on risks and mitigation strategies
  • Review and assess contractual terms for acceptability, risks, and impact, using company resources as needed
  • Identify risks and develop or provide alternative contract terms to mitigate them
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical practices, and applicable laws
  • Lead contract negotiations and manage contract life cycles
  • Coordinate inputs from sales, finance, legal, and service teams to structure contracts
  • Analyze contracts for compliance with policies, specifications, and requirements
  • Ensure timely communication of contract details and maintain accurate records
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external customers on contract matters
  • Proactively resolve contractual issues and ensure proper contract closure
  • Work independently with minimal direction, exercising discretion in approach and decision-making
  • Occasional business travel is required but not limited to, site in Fairfield, CA or Colorado Springs, CO

 

What YOU Will Learn:

  • Gain hands-on experience navigating the complexities of US government contracting.
  • Enhance your negotiation skills by leading high-stakes discussions with U.S. Government agencies, prime contractors, foreign governments, and commercial clients, learning advanced strategies for risk mitigation and contract structuring
  • Build expertise in FAR Part 12 and 15 contracting, mastering compliance with industry regulations, government standards, and specific contract terms across commercial and government sectors
  • Develop a deep understanding of cross-functional team collaboration, honing leadership abilities by working with teams in sales, finance, legal, and service departments to deliver contract solutions
  • Improve your strategic problem-solving and decision-making abilities by independently managing complex contracts from inception to closure while ensuring compliance and maintaining strong client relationships

 

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

 

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Customer relationship skills
  • Excellent communication skills, combined with a flexible and positive attitude, Negotiation experience
  • Experience with USG customers and proposals a plus
  • Experience in FAR Part 12 and 15 contracting, including FAR/DFAR flow downs
  • Contracts Lead or direct engagement with external customers

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
