Position Summary

The Live Event Broadcast Director is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of live event broadcasts. This role includes managing broadcast equipment, directing live event coverage, coordinating camera crews, ensuring high-quality production, and handling post-event editing. The Director will also set and manage budgets, seek out new business opportunities, and oversee the setup and teardown of production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Live Event Production & Directing

  • Direct live broadcasts, ensuring seamless event coverage and high production quality.
  • Operate and manage live switching equipment, coordinating camera feeds, graphics, and audio.
  • Work closely with talent, producers, and technical teams to execute smooth and engaging live broadcasts.

Equipment Management & Maintenance

  • Oversee the setup, operation, and dismantling of broadcast equipment at event locations.
  • Ensure all PBR (Professional Bull Riders) broadcast equipment is maintained, upgraded, and operational.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during live events to minimize downtime and disruptions.

Crew Coordination & Budgeting

  • Organize and manage camera crews, ensuring proper staffing for each event.
  • Assign roles and responsibilities to team members for efficient production.
  • Develop and manage production budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality.

Post-Production & Editing

  • Oversee the editing and finalization of event footage for distribution and marketing purposes.
  • Ensure all recorded content meets broadcast and digital media standards.

Business Development & Growth

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for live event broadcasting.
  • Build relationships with sponsors, partners, and clients to expand the reach and profitability of broadcasts.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance production capabilities.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Live Event Broadcast Director or in a similar role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of live broadcast production, including camera operation, audio mixing, and live switching.
  • Experience with PBR or similar event broadcasting is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple aspects of production, from pre-event planning to post-event editing.
  • Strong leadership skills to coordinate teams and ensure smooth event execution.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  • Budget management experience with a track record of cost-effective decision-making.
  • Proficiency in editing software and post-production workflows.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Requires frequent travel to event locations.
  • Must be able to lift and transport broadcast equipment.
  • Work may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
