Summary of Job Duties:
Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct patient care as an RN. This professional nursing role will require the ability to coordinate care for patients, triage patients, and work collaboratively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff. Requires the ability to effectively work with patient referral sources, facilitate appointments, coordinate transitions of care, and provide patient education on complex conditions. The RN will work with the individual patient, their families, and providers of care to develop and implement individual health plans.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelors in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing ;

Valid RN License;

Minimum of 1 year Registered Nursing experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs comprehensive assessments on patients, including physical exams, medical history review, and monitoring vital signs.

  • Creates individualized care plans based on patient assessments and collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and update care plans.

  • Monitors for and respond to adverse reactions during infusions, such as allergic responses or infusion-related complications. Provide immediate care and interventions as needed.

  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments as per the healthcare provider’s instructions, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

  • Works with oncologists, hematologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and update them on patient status, response to treatment, and any concerns.

  • Tracks patient conditions, including response to treatments, medications, and therapies. Document all observations and patient responses accurately.

  • Works closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and discuss patient progress.

  • Prepares patients and equipment for various medical procedures and assist the healthcare team during surgeries or treatments.

  • Ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, care plans, progress, and any changes in condition, following legal and hospital standards.

  • Follows safety protocols, including infection control measures, patient privacy (HIPAA), and maintaining proper documentation for compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Monitors and maintains an adequate supply of medications, infusion supplies, and equipment, and ensure proper storage according to protocols.

  • Adheres to strict infection control practices, including sterile techniques during infusion and handling of blood products, to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.

  • Performs other duties as assigned
