Job description

Are you an accomplished, technical program manager looking to apply your expertise to drive meaningful portfolios of work forward? Specifically, help scale internal management processes and drive highly visible client facing projects? If the answer is yes...keep reading.

Aimpoint Digital is a best-in-market and fully remote data engineering, analytics and artificial intelligence consultancy. We partner with the most innovative cloud and data platform providers to solve our clients' toughest business problems. Our approach is different: we listen, and then build tailored solutions, leveraging modern technologies in conjunction with highly experienced consultants with respect for the foundations of our craft.

As a Lead Technical Program Manager you will:

  • Become a trusted advisor working together with our clients, from data owners and analytic users to C-level executives
  • Engage and lead multi-disciplinary teams to solve complex use-cases across a variety of industries
  • Manage a portfolio of high-priority projects ranging from individual project delivery or large projects, to micro-scaled projects at a high volume
  • Work with leadership to architect a managed-services model for data platform services
  • Help refine and expand commercial offerings; specifically with respect to existing services (e.g. data platform architecture advisory) and new services on our roadmap for 2025 and beyond
  • Assess existing project and program management capabilities and work with the central Project Management Office (PMO) to align on best practices for delivery that maximize our clients’ experience working with Aimpoint
  • Manage inbound work requests coming into our existing Data Platform Center of Excellence (COE) and propose / implement changes to increase the program’s efficacy

Who we are looking for

We are building a diverse team of talented and motivated people who deeply understand business problems and enjoy solving them. We are widely regarded as a top consulting destination for technical talent, and a "tiger team" of resources that take on challenging yet fulfilling data engineering cases that are critical to our client’s success.

You are a self-starter, with a proven track record of managing high-visibility projects (size and scale) as well as a large volume of small projects. Someone who loves modern technologies, has experience delivering professional services, with an eye for process improvement; in particular as a mechanism for increasing client satisfaction. You enjoy challenges, specifically when it comes to identifying improvement opportunities, proposing and implementing changes. You have an acumen for business, and how to translate those needs into executable project and program plans.

As a Lead Program Manager, you will be expected to be ‘the face’ of program / project management for the Data Engineering + Infrastructure team at Aimpoint Digital. You will work closely with our central PMO to champion centrally defined project management principles in our everyday operations. You will also be a key contributor / leader to the expansion of our current COE program into a scalable delivery model that we intend to evolve into a Managed Services function.

Specific technical qualifications as follows:

  • PMP certified; SCRUM (or equivalent) preferred; or demonstrated proficiency / acumen within agile methodology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence and professionalism necessary for building rapport and directly communicating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through with meticulous organizational skills
  • Experience managing stakeholders and collaborating with customers
  • Experience defining and leading internal transformation programs
  • Demonstrated experience in process design and improvement
  • Demonstrated understanding of fundamental data analytics / engineering concepts (e.g. data warehousing, analytics design)
  • Any experience with modern data architectures a plus (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • 7+ years professional services and/or project/program management experience
  • 5+ years working overseeing technical delivery/consulting projects
  • 5+ client account/management experience
  • Expertise in software engineering concepts and best practices and/or DevOps is desirable

We are actively seeking candidates for full-time, remote work within the US. Atlanta-based applicants will have the opportunity to work in our headquarters in Sandy Springs, GA.
