Job Summary:
Pets Best is seeking a Senior Insurance Analyst to help support product profitability efforts, business development, partner management, claims processing and servicing, and financial reporting. This role will formulate and present analysis and insights and will help support the design, development, and delivery of reports and analytic datasets using SQL, Python, and TABLEAU and other reporting visualization tools. In addition, this role will assemble data, analyze business/product performance, identify problems, and develop recommendations. This role will also contribute to the creation of compliant and auditable business processes to support ongoing reporting and analytic requirements and will provide input to leadership on how to improve data architecture.

Main Responsibilities:
Conduct extensive analysis of performance trends and leverage analytics to examine product profitability.
Partner with Pets Best leadership team to deliver complex analytical projects from beginning to end, including ideation, data mining, strategic decision support, and presentation of results and recommendations.
Utilize SQL and/or Python to pull data from source systems and accurately assemble data sets; Use a variety of quantitative methods to understand and analyze data (e.g., regression, histograms, etc.).
Lead and maintain routine reporting processes (e.g., monthly, partner and prospective client) and automate processes while implementing Quality Control measures to ensure accuracy.
Lead efforts to enhance the dissemination of information via reporting tools (e.g., Tableau)
Support efforts to integrate Pets Best data into Synchrony’s data architecture.
Present complex analytical information to all levels of management in a clear and concise manner.
Integrate internal and external data into analysis for complete view of the business to drive strategic decision support and uncover new opportunities for growth.
Produce management level dashboards, ad hoc reporting, and analysis.
Work closely with Pets Best leadership team to improve business analytic and data gathering processes.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in STEM or related quantitative field. In lieu of degree, a high school diploma and 7+ years of analytics work experience in the financial services, insurance, credit card and/or payment industries.
3+ years of progressive work experience including 3+ years of insurance industry experience in analytics or operations, 2+ years of experience in analytics, and 1+ years of experience with statistical tools such as Python, SQL, and Tableau
Demonstrated coding ability in SQL, Python and Tableau
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to navigate complex data tables/structures
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel (e.g., pivot tables, filters, database functions, VBA, etc.)
Exposure to R is a plus
Advanced degree with emphasis in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Decision Science, Operation Research, Engineering or another quantitative field preferred
Experience managing, moving, and manipulating data from multiple sources
Experience with segmentation techniques such as decision trees or k-means clustering
Experience with model development techniques such as logistic regression, random forest, or gradient boosting is a plus
Excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail
Strong leadership, analytic, and problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Familiarity with consumer and commercial lending products and practices
Ability to provide analytic support including pulling data, preparing analysis, interpreting data, making strategic recommendations, and presenting to client/product teams
Experience measuring marketing campaigns and interpreting results
Ability to clearly explain technical and analytical information (verbally, written, and in presentation form) and summarize for key stakeholders
Outstanding communications, relationship building, influencing, and collaboration skills
