Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and visionary VP, Digital Games (eInstants) to join our dynamic leadership team and oversee the digital gaming business, inclusive of game development. This is a high-impact role that will report directly to the President, Digital and play a key part in shaping the future of our overall digital lottery strategy. The leader will drive the success of the digital games business and develop games and strategies that resonate with lottery players, ensuring exceptional quality, and spearhead long-term strategic growth in an increasingly competitive market.

This role requires a leader with a deep understanding of real-money game development who can drive world-class quality across their remit, coupled with a strategic focus on long-term growth and innovation in partnership with the lotteries worldwide. The VP, Digital Games (eInstants) will oversee senior leaders and game studios, ensuring alignment with the company's vision and key objectives.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the creation of a comprehensive gaming strategy (real money gaming as well as free to play) to establish and grow Scientific Games’ position both within and beyond the traditional iLottery eInstant’s market.
  • Lead the game studios and drive innovation across game mechanics, math/bonus modeling, and the introduction of new genres
  • Drive the game aggregation solution (Content Hub) go-to-market efforts and long-term strategy.
  • Assess the market landscape and lead business development/partnership initiatives, coordinating with relevant stakeholders across the organization.
  • Assess, improve, and implement an optimal go-to-market strategy, leveraging a data driven funnel, metrics, KPIs and a robust performance structure to support execution.
  • Drive innovation within the segment by introducing new gaming mechanics and game genres to expand audience adoption
  • Serve as an external face of the organization to the industry forging long-term partnerships with external developers and sourcing the right games to achieve strategy.
  • Establish and uphold rigorous quality assurance processes at every stage of game development & publishing, cultivating a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Strategically allocate resources—including talent, technology, and budget—within the portfolio to maximize impact.
  • Inspire, mentor, and develop senior leaders and their teams, fostering a high-performance culture that encourages innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Identify, attract, and retain top talent within the organization, providing opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of game development initiatives and inform future strategies.
  • Own the P&L and drive profitable growth for the digital games business.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of senior leadership experience in the game development industry (ideally real money gaming), with a demonstrated ability to successfully guide large-scale, high-profile projects from concept to launch.
  • Proven expertise in managing globally distributed teams and complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Strong P&L management experience, with a focus on aligning financial decisions with long-term strategic goals.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions, integration, and divestitures within the gaming space.
  • Comprehensive understanding of game development processes, from concept to release.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of motivating and guiding large, diverse teams.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to balance visionary goals with day-to-day operational realities.
  • Deep industry knowledge, including emerging trends, market shifts, and evolving technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a passion for creative innovation.
  • Proven success in collaborating with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to execute complex initiatives.
  • A competitive edge, as shown by achieving and surpassing ambitious growth targets from the ground up to scale up businesses.
  • MBA a plus
