Quick Rundown:
We are seeking a full-time Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who is a critical leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO). This individual will be responsible for the overall financial health and strategic financial direction of the company, encompassing financial planning, analysis, reporting, controls, tax, and risk management. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of the real estate and hospitality industries, coupled with private equity experience, and a proven track record of driving financial accounting and budgeting performance along with supporting strategic growth.
What Youll Do:
Financial Leadership & Strategy: Develop and execute the company's financial strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives
Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to the CEO to support strategic decision-making
Financial Planning & Analysis: Oversee the development and management of the annual budget, long-range financial plans, and forecasting models
Analyze financial performance against budget and forecasts, identifying key variances and opportunities for improvement
Financial Reporting & Controls: Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, adhering to US GAAP accounting standards and regulations
Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance
Treasury Management: Oversee cash flow management, investments, debt financing, and capital budgeting. Develop and implement strategies to optimize working capital and minimize financial risk
Tax Management: Assist with tax planning and compliance activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Identify and implement tax-saving strategies
Real Estate Expertise: Apply a deep understanding of real estate development, asset management, and property management to financial analysis, investment decisions, and operational improvements. Including all phases of development (from site acquisition to construction to stabilization to project closeout) to maximize asset value
Hospitality Industry Knowledge: Apply understanding of the hospitality industry to financial analysis, investment decisions, and operational improvements. Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes
Private Equity Experience: Leverage private equity experience to evaluate potential investments, structure deals, and manage investor relations. Contribute to fundraising efforts and manage the financial aspects of portfolio companies
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing remote finance team. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Oversee the company's insurance programs
What Were Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred
Minimum of 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with a significant portion in the real estate development industry
Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus
Proven track record of success in a CFO or similar senior financial role
Extensive experience with equity transactions, including deal structuring, due diligence, and portfolio management
Deep understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles (GAAP), and internal controls
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Demonstrated leadership ability and experience in building and managing high-performing remote teams
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations related to the real estate and hospitality industries
