Job description

Treasury Accounting Analyst

United Community is seeking a highly skilled Treasury Accounting Analyst. The Treasury Accounting Analyst will support various areas of treasury operations at United Community, focusing on accurate processing of investment transactions and maintaining investment accounting. The incumbent will also manage collateral for investments and public depositors, build relationships with safekeeping banks and investment brokers, and ensure compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements. The Analyst will work within established policies and strategies, and can be relied upon to manage and perform certain functions and processes with minimal supervision.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure Integrity: Accurately process investment transactions and maintain investment accounting.
  • Manage Collateral: Track and pledge collateral for investments and public depositors.
  • Build Relationships: Develop processes with safekeeping banks and investment brokers.
  • Reconcile Transactions: Daily reconciliation of Wholesale Funding and Investment Portfolio transactions.
  • Prepare Entries: Create accounting entries for securities and derivatives, including those acquired in mergers and acquisitions.
  • Support Reporting: Prepare financial information and analyses for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Compliance: Support SOX compliance and update procedures for Treasury Accounting activities.
  • Assist Operations: Help with trade settlements, wires, and collateral management as needed.
  • Verify Derivatives: Ensure accurate derivative transactions and maintain audit-ready documentation.

Requirements for Success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 4+ years of experience in an accounting or financial environment
  • Strong computer, organizational, communication, and management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Participation in compliance training
