Responsible for developing & maintaining Automation Infrastructure, Automation test plans & scripts, maintaining test scripts and analyzing test results for Ciena’s Optical portfolio based on Photonics /ROADM/WDM & OTN Technologies.

• Design and develop automation libraries, test cases/suites, and collaborate with the Test Team to meet system-based test requirements for any of these areas Photonics /ROADM/WDM, Optical Control Plane etc.
• Develop Automation Libraries for measuring instruments, including JDSU, IXIA, and others.
• Offer real-time support to the test team for their system based scenarios.
• Ongoing maintenance & enhancements of the Python-based test automation framework.
• Perform diagnostic analysis and troubleshoot complex software issues for resolution.

The Must Haves:

• BE / B. Tech / MCA Degree.
• Years of experience: +6 years
• Proficient software programming skills in Python within both Linux and Windows environments.
• Hands-on experience with NBIs Libraries (REST, NETCONF, gRPC) and familiarity with Commercial Test Set Equipment Libraries is advantageous.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as GIT, Jenkins, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Ansible, and related technologies is an asset.
• Object-oriented software design experience is a plus.
• Knowledge in Telecom and Datacom systems, Ethernet networking & fiber optic transport systems in general.
• Highly skilled in the analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex issues.
• Solid understanding & experience with test automation concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to work and adapt to multi-site global R&D environment.
