The Role
We are seeking a Senior Information Security Compliance Engineer to join our Security team. This role will be responsible for enhancing and managing our security ops and incident response capabilities. It is a highly cross-functional role requiring both strategic and tactical execution, technical expertise, and the ability to drive critical, time-sensitive initiatives. We’re looking for a self-starter, who is communication focused with a deep sense of ownership and a team mentality to collaborate on achieving the best for our environment’s security posture.
What You'll Do
Develop detection techniques to identify security events, anomalous activity, system availability attacks, as well as environment integrity risks such as product abuse and fraudulent activity
Implement and operationalize end-to-end security incident procedures and controls, including: 1) preparation, 2) detection and analysis, 3) containment, eradication, and recovery, and 4) post-incident analysis
Implement and maintain perimeter security controls, including WAF and system-level firewall configurations, zero trust solutions, and DDoS protections
Centralize security logging across internally managed hosts and cloud resources
Implement and manage vulnerability and configuration scanning tools, including setting up scanners, tuning scanning policies, and scheduling scans
Build, test, and operationalize security patching automation pipelines
Support broader security team projects such as threat modeling, vulnerability scanning, audits, security control automation, and custom tool building
Advise engineering and operations teams to proactively drive development and deployment of effective detection, investigation, and response capabilities
Build cross-functional relationships to influence stakeholders on security best practices and prioritization
What You'll Bring
5+ years of experience in security ops, incident management, and cyber security
Passion for Web3/blockchain technology — previous industry experience is a huge plus
Deep knowledge of threat detection and analysis, security control automation, vulnerability management, network security, and SIEM solutions
Experience with various types of incidents such as unauthorized access, DDoS, XSS, phishing, spam, service abuse, etc.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically
Expertise in managing Linux hosts
Expertise in Bash and Python
Experience in Go development
Experience maintaining IaC (preferably Ansible and Terraform, but experience in Salt, Puppet or Chef is acceptable)
Experience with popular cloud providers such as Oracle, AWS, Azure, and/or Google
Bonus
The Canada base salary range and level for this position are $110,695 - $122,994 per year and level P4. Other International ranges, in local currency, will be discussed during the hiring process with applicable candidates. This role is eligible for a quarterly bonus tied to company and individual goal achievement. We consider years of experience, level of proficiency in job function, the technical competencies required and location when determining base salary ranges for positions and levels.
