About Pleo
Pleo solves today’s company spending problem. We empower companies with an app that links to pre-paid cards, giving every employee a card and trusting them to spend company money responsibly. After all, if you’re trusted enough to be hired, you should be trusted enough to make responsible spending decisions.
Our design team at Pleo is passionate about creating simple, beautiful interfaces that solve complex business challenges - keeping both employees and finance teams happy.
We also aim to empower our partners with equally intuitive and effective digital experiences, enabling them to confidently support their customers on behalf of Pleo.
We’re now looking for a Product Designer to join our Partnerships domain. In this role, you’ll leverage elegant product design to help redefine how people work today.
You’ll be part of a 40+ strong Product Design, Research, and Brand Design team, reporting to our Design Director
The role is listed for Denmark, Spain and Portugal (both office-based and fully remote options are available within those countries)
The Role
As a Product Designer in our Partnerships domain, you’ll focus on two key areas:
1. Hands-on Product Design in Team Ecosystem
You’ll be the designer for Team Ecosystem, working to empower external partners and internal Pleo teams to collaboratively solve customer challenges through product and service integrations.
Your work will involve designing efficient and effective tools and interfaces that enable:
- Pleo teams to develop great external APIs
- Partners and customers to leverage these APIs to build robust integrations with Pleo
- Customers to seamlessly use these integrations, reducing friction when using Pleo alongside other products and services
2. Design Partner to Our Domain’s Leadership
The Partnerships domain is still evolving, and you’ll collaborate with the Domain leadership and Engineering Leads to increase design maturity across the domain.
You’ll bring a design perspective to commercial targets, advocate for customer-centric processes, and champion usability - ensuring that great design directly supports Pleo’s business goals.
Our goal is for all our products to offer a fully self-driven experience with rapid time-to-value. That’s why automation and self-service thinking should be embedded into the design process from the start.
What we’re looking for
We believe great designers have a mix of hard and soft skills. Here’s what will make you successful in this role:
- Researching complex problem areas in a technical space to help the team deeply understand the needs of technical users
- Ideation, prototyping, and validation to refine and improve concepts
- Confidence in designing complex interaction flows
- Systems thinking and experience working with design systems
- Balancing industry best practices with innovation to create user-friendly solutions
- Strong visual design capabilities
- Ability to define a target state and break down work into logical milestones
- Close collaboration with engineers to bring designs to life
- Strong communication skills, both within the team and externally
- Ability to prioritize effectively, maintaining both quality and organization
We’d love if you…
- Have experience working on B2B platforms, marketplaces, or developer platforms
- Have helped increase a team’s design maturity through patience, empathy, and passion
- Care about measuring the impact of design decisions using data
- Have strong opinions about design processes, tools, and systems
- Enjoy collaborating with engineers to push creative boundaries (in a productive way!)
- Are active in the design community and contribute to discussions
- Have a knack for interface copywriting

Why join us?
Working at Pleo means you're working on something very exciting: the future of work. Our mission is to help every company go beyond the books. Pleo itself means ‘more than you’d expect’, and it’s been the secret to our success over the last 8 years. So it’s only fitting that we’d pass this philosophy onto our customers to help them make the most of their finances.
We think company spending should be delegated to all employees and teams, that it should be as automated as possible, and that it should drive a culture of responsible spending. Finance teams shouldn’t be siloed from the rest of the organisation – they should work in unity with marketing, sales, IT and everyone else.
Speaking of working in unity, our values tell the story of how we work at Pleo. We have four core values, the first of which is ‘champion the customer’, which means we address real pain points that businesses face. Next up is ‘succeed as a team’, which highlights how our strength lies in our diversity and trust in each other. We also ‘make it happen’ by taking bold decisions and following through to deliver results. Last but not least, we ‘build to scale’, creating lasting solutions that address today’s challenges and anticipate tomorrow’s needs.
So, in a nutshell, that's Pleo. Today we are a 850+ team, from over 100 nations, sitting in our Copenhagen HQ, London, Stockholm, Berlin, Madrid, Montreal and Lisbon offices —and quite a few full-time remotes in 35 other countries! Being HQ'd out of Copenhagen means we're inspired by things like a good work-life balance. If you don't work in the office with us, we'll help you set up the best remote setup possible and make sure you still have time to connect with your team.
