PAY RANGE
The Target Pay Range for this position is $28.27-$34.47 hourly. The full Pay Range is $21.93-$40.77 hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. As a Sr Mortgage Loan Funder at BECU, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our members experience seamless and accurate mortgage closings. Your expertise will enable you to handle complex loan programs, fostering clear communication and collaboration with various entities to finalize our members’ mortgage journeys. From preparing precise closing disclosures to validating critical documentation, you’ll be instrumental in creating a smooth and trustworthy process. Your dedication to compliance, accuracy, and member satisfaction will ensure our standards of excellence remain unmatched.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Champion Compliance: Ensure all responsibilities align with BECU competencies, regulatory requirements, and information protection standards.
- Coordinate Closings: Review, balance, and close mortgage loan files while maintaining clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure Accuracy: Audit documents, disburse funds, and authorize recordings with a meticulous eye for detail.
- Resolve Challenges: Analyze and resolve issues that arise during the funding process, collaborating effectively with others.
- Validate Conditions: Review underwriting conditions to ensure compliance with eligibility and underwriting guidelines.
- Analyze Documentation: Collect, evaluate, and log essential documents while ensuring all requirements are satisfied for closing.
- Prepare Closing Disclosures: Draft final closing disclosures, process tolerance cures, and revise disclosures as needed per TRID regulations.
- Handle Complex Loans: Manage closing tasks for conventional, FHA, VA, special loan programs, and construction loans.
- Support Internal Standards: Meet internal service-level agreements for document preparation and ensure all regulatory requirements are upheld.
- Contribute Beyond Tasks: Take on additional responsibilities that contribute to the overall success of the team and organization.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience required.
- Minimum two years of experience in mortgage related role such as mortgage processing, funding, closing underwriting required.
- Successful completion of courses or seminars relating to mortgage banking processing, and escrow required. Successful completion of courses required to maintain LPO designation preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of first mortgage real estate lending practices, including federal regulatory requirements, state regulations, agency and Credit Union requirements required.
- Advanced knowledge of closing more complex loans to include construction loans, grant loan programs, USDA loan programs or any other specialty loan program required.
- Advanced knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA and special loan programs and the knowledge necessary to fund and insure FHA and guaranty VA loans required.
- Basic knowledge of Mortgage Fulfillment and how it interacts with the Mortgage Secondary Marketing department.

- Excellent organizational skills with ability to work within stringent time constraints.
- Proficient math skills, with a high degree of accuracy.
