The Role

The Marketing Operations role will report directly to the VP, US Sales & Marketing. The position will be responsible for managing essential processes to support the day-to-day operations of the US Sales & Marketing teams. Key areas include Congress management & oversight; Speakers Bureau management & oversight; Processing of commercial displays, exhibits & sponsorships; Promotional materials reviews; Print production; Management of external vendors; and interaction with alliance partners. The Marketing Operations role works closely with internal and external stakeholders to solve problems on a daily basis, utilizing multiple technology platforms to meet the immediate needs of the organization.  However, the ideal candidate is also expected to have a long-term impact on Genmab’s growth, responsible for providing strategic insights and recommendations to drive improved efficiencies and identify opportunities to build foundational processes & partnerships to deliver outstanding Customer Experience.

Responsibilities

  • The candidate will have strategic & operational responsibilities, and ownership of numerous processes that are cross-functional in nature, including:

    • Congress Management: Oversee a team of 2 direct reports, with responsibility for major medical Congresses (ASCO, ASH, ESMO, EHA etc.) planning & execution.  Includes both development, vendor management, onsite execution.  Ensure alignment with alliance partners, where applicable.

    • Speakers Bureau Operations: Manage speaker contracting, training, and all daily interactions concerning program execution.  Oversee external vendors for all aspects of program execution, tracking & reconciliations, compliance, and reporting.  Daily interaction with KOLs, field force & field leadership to manage flawless program execution & compliant reconciliations & reporting.  Lead cross-functional colleagues including field representation, sales operations, BIS, IT, and Compliance to ensure optimal execution.   Make strategic recommendations to Sales & Marketing leaders, and IT leaders for program and vendor improvements.   Coordinate with alliance partners on program strategy & execution.

    • Commercial Sponsorships, Local/Regional Displays & Exhibits Operations: Manage incoming requests and submissions processes for approvals.  Create and issue select legal agreements, interacting with customers, Legal, Procurement, and accounts payable to ensure complete information and timely processing of payments.  Ensure strategic guidance and budget parameters for local conferences are being followed by field teams.  Provide quantitative & qualitative analyses with Sales leaders to inform them of timely decision-making and optimize investments. Work directly with field leadership to identify local Congress staffing coverage, ensure content pull-through with the brand team, and any advertising or display opportunities, where applicable.   

    • Promotional Materials review: Manage the process for multiple brands, in conjunction with alliance partners, brand team, and agencies. 

    • Manage & track production of print promotional materials, partnering with brand team and external vendors.  Oversee physical inventory and fulfillment tracking, responding to field needs.

    • Alliance management responsibilities related to marketing & sales execution

    • Vendor management & oversight, performance evaluations & optimization

    • Financial tracking & budget management

    • Identify new opportunities to streamline processes, automate how Genmab operates, and optimize decision-making

  • Coordinates with other functions and stakeholders in Sales Operations, Business Information Systems (BIS), IT, Finance, Procurement, Communications, Field Leadership, Field teams, Brand Team, Alliance Management, Medical, Market Access, and external customers. 

  • Proactively monitors and strives to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the US Sales & Marketing organization’s planning & execution efforts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required

  • 12+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, including substantial brand management and at least 7 years in marketing operations, sales operations, analytics, strategic consulting, project management, or other analytical roles.

  • Understanding of marketing operations processes, financial tracking, compliance reporting, and interactions between US Marketing & US field force is required

  • Proficiency in relevant platforms, e.g. Veeva, MS Office, MS Teams, and SalesForce-based platforms is required

  • Experience in analyzing data & building reports to draw actionable insights and optimize marketing strategies is required

  • Detail-oriented with a strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.

  • The exceptional ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, with changing priorities and significant time pressures is required.

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are required along with strong project/process management skills.

  • The ability to develop and maintain strong team relationships, including external customers, vendors & alliance partners, while driving for positive results is required.

  • Previous experience in oncology is preferred.

Where you will work: This role will be based in our Plainsboro, NJ campus and your remote location.

For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:

$188,000.00---$282,000.00

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
