Job description

 

We are seeking a Strategic Project Manager who will be responsible for leading and coordinating the successful planning, execution, and delivery of designated strategic projects. The Strategic Project Manager will collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and senior leadership, to gather requirements, manage resources, and track progress toward milestones.


The Strategic Project Manager will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities and adapting to changing circumstances to ensure successful project outcomes. This role requires a proactive individual who is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of fostering effective collaboration across departments. The successful candidate will bring strong problem-solving abilities, exceptional communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects from initiation to completion.

Specific Duries & Responsibilities


Project Management

  • Develop and maintain project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular project meetings to monitor progress and address challenges.
  • Identify and manage risks, ensuring timely completion of project objectives.


Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define project requirements, goals, and deliverables.
  • Facilitate focus groups or discussions to gather input and ensure consensus.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.


Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare regular project updates, reports, and documentation for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaboratively ensures that project deliverables align with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations.


Process Improvement

  • Analyze current practices and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop recommendations to enhance efficiency, productivity, and project outcomes.


Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong project management skills, with demonstrated success in managing complex projects.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five years related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • ALA accredited Masters in Library/Information Science or equivalent combination of advanced degree and relevant experience.
  • Project management certification.
